Métro Cité - l'escalier

2013 Nov13 Paris _20131113 070 DSC_8609

Cité Métro Station

The exit at this metro station had more stairs than we could count
and seemed to be even more than the circular ascent at Abesses.

As great as the exercise was for counteracting
the effects of French butter and baguettes,
we found the elevator for our subsequent stops at Cité.

Une station de métro qui donne l'impression d'être dans un sous-marin.

Almost futuristic - the metal walls suggest a stern and repressive government. The soft balls of light - friendly and happy other-life-forms.

Great black and white mage - love the contrast of the rivets on the metal. This brings back frightening memories of being lost in the depths of Les Halles with our luggage and no French. I have a tendency to claustrophobic so the experience was quite unpleasant. Warm regards.

A very different Paris metro station, quite spectacular... but also one of the few with a quick and well working lift! :-)

This pic seems to come from a Sci-Fi old movie!

The only time I used this station I was going into it, not coming out. But God bless Mr. Otis and his wonderful knee-saving invention!

I'll never understand those people who run up the escalators. When didn't they just take the stairs in the first place?

I walk up those stairs too.
