Macarons pistache

Macaron tower, Ladurée

Just a little pre-weekend temptation...
macarons, Ladurée, pistache?
What's your favorite?

(miam-miam!)

I have never had one but I am always willing to try them if I come across one.

I haven't had one either, but it does look delicious! I'll definitely keep an eye out! I could surely use a taste of something sweet this evening!!! Hope your week is going well! Can't believe another one is almost over!! Time flies whether you're having fun or not!!

Hugs

Can you believe that I've never tried one? That will be remedied soon. Think I'll splurge at Ladurée too. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration.

What a sight, Genie. Beautiful! Sometimes I think raspberry is my favourite ~ others, chocolate ~ then salted caramel ~ or lemon... I'm sure if there's a Chambord-flavoured macaron, it would be right up there. Maybe I need a favourite for each day of the week.

Jolie pièce montée !!! Le vert, ça porte-malheur pour un mariage, mais le gâteau reste très appétissant !

Yummy.. It almost seems a shame to take one of these macaroons from this terrific presentation.

What a beautiful image. That is one tree that would go just right with my coffee this morning! I usually ask for the lemon one.

If you haven't been upstairs at the shop on the Champs...ask to be seated there.

Peter turned me on to pistache years ago , so it is right up there with caramel! I did have violette in Pasadena last year, believe it or not and it was heaven.

Dare I say it? This French Girl is not a fan of macarons [insert horrified gasp.] I must admit they are very photogenic, however, and this is a good illustration of it. Bravo, Genie. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

I've never had a macaroon from Lauduree. I love pistache so I'm sure I'd love one of these in that flavor...any flavor would be ok for me. :)

It is time for desert, but I don't have anything like that. I feel bereft.

I've only had one macaron in my life, it was at the Dalloyau, across from Luxembourg Gardens. Delicious...They sure are fun to look at & the cake looks other-worldly with that lighting!

Well, thanks a lot, Genie! I've been very good lately, but now I might just have to hit the NYC Ladurée store—for my fave, caramel au fleur de sel, and second fave, pistache. Miam!!

Joe, I would definitely have difficulty in removing the first one, but after that... ;-)

Alexa, those are two of my favorites also.

Bear, don't you mean "bear"-eft?

Rob and Mandy, would you believe that I had a delicious vanilla macaron in a Florida pâtisserie this summer, made by a Parisian!

Sharon, raspberry sounds delicious. You are right about "bad" macarons. There are many out there and I have had my share. Holly and I have become quite discerning after we started making them ourselves.

Virginia, I bought candied violets on my last trip to Paris at Mora to make them.

Janey, we love anything with a lemon filling, lemon buttercream!

Oakland, just follow Alexa's advice on her top two favorites.

'Tsuki, je ne le savais pas.

From the comments, I would say that pistache wins. Veronique, unless you do not like the flavor or the consistency, I could give you a taste of one that you would like.

Although I do love them, it is difficult to have more than one and I prefer to share bites of two different ones.

Have you ever tried wasabi (not my fave)?

Bises,
Genie

I'm going to a 'high tea' this afternoon Genie, how I hope macarons are on the menu, even more so after seeing these. I have such delicious memories of Laduree.
