Les Invalides - Jardin de l'Intendant

The Jardin de l'Intendant is a sculptured garden on the grounds of Les Invalides.  It sits off to the west side from which there is no exit and is usually very quiet and empty.  I have a short memory and have at least twice tried to leave the grounds in this direction only to turn around.  The photos void of people have been my reward both times in two different seasons.  The summer flowers had not yet been planted but the beds were ready.  If you are in this area it would be a delightful place of repose and quiet, worth a visit.

A wonderful image. Think it would look good in black and white also.

Oh my gosh! It is so beautiful now, imagine with flowers. There
are so many beautiful spots. I just couldn't seem to get enough of Montmarte. If I could ever go back I would stay longer and try and see more. Yvonne

Ahhh another "Pruner's Paradise". I want to catch the gardeners at work just once. I am pretty sure they use fingernail clippers!

If I could wake up one morning to find my yard looking like this - even just for the day - I'd feel like a princess. Beautiful, Genie.

Great shot, and thanks for the tip, Genie! Hope I do get the chance to visit this place, which must be beautiful in any season.

Beautiful garden. It would be lovely to sit and enjoy the quiet. I imagine this type of garden would require a lot of upkeep.

Lovely image.

Interesting how they've sculpted it!

It's surprising to learn there is a garden in the city the Parisians haven't found.

Malyss sent me to your blog. I, too , collect bench photos like malyss BUT I haven't added many benches for awhile now. . . one day. Toyr photo shows a lovely well cared for place to have benches! Thanks for sharing via malyss.

This is fascinating and your image is perfect. BUT . . . it is the exact opposite of my gardens. I like shrubs that grow the way that nature intended them.

Je connais ce jardin. Oui, tu as raison, c'est un lieu peu fréquenté. Bon jeudi! Je passe chez toi pour revoir le Paris que j'aime beaucoup.
