Pâtisserie Hunt - Julien II

Just a stone's throw from yesterday's church,
Église Saint Philippe du Roule, is this pâtisserie filled with temptations to start your week.
After placing an order for pastries and deux cafés I snapped a few shots of these gorgeous tarts.  After hearing, "non, Madame," I turned off my camera.
It is a good thing that I have a fast trigger finger!

Je vous souhaite une bonne semaine.

Oh, la, la. This is art, Genie, a.r.t.! Thank you for making me very hungry as I was headed for bed tonight. I just want you to know that I have just run for the Nutella jar and had to dip my finger in it--- all because of your picture! Oh, la, la. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Oh lala again, but from a french morning! It's breakfast time here, and you're so cruel to show such marvels! :o))OK, back to my light cup of tea and two toasts with a little butter...

It is my favorite sentence of the day: another lady fighting the diminishing light of autumn :-)

That's happened to me before Genie and I think 'that's ok I've got my shot!!' These pastries are beyond tempting, they are divine!! What a perfect morning you had, amazing architecture first and then coffee and pastries...IN PARIS!!!

Okay now I am really hungry. Time to place a photo that makes us a little less hungry. But France is of course the land of the great chiefs and nice meals. Still a nice mouthwatering photo .

How exquisite, Genie! Photographing pastries in Paris seems to keeps the reflexes sharp.

Ate my Cheerios while looking at these divine tarts (and remembering how delicious they were) ... Made my Monday morning a little better ... Merci ma chère amie!

Looks delicious! I wonder why they would not want to have the photo taken. It is free marketing and publicity.

And how glad we are for your quick reflexes! That looks fabulous. I don't understand why businesses wouldn't want photos of the magnificent wares splashed about. It doesn't make all that much sense to me.

I'd sure hate to be in a "shoot out" with you! Fortunately for us, you have the fastest shutter in the west (of Europe!).

Oh, they look delicious, Genie, and I'm so glad you managed to sneak a shot! Nothing like a fast trigger finger when it comes to photography!! Of course, now I will have to leave the computer to get something to eat! Whatever it is, it won't be as delicious as these! Hope your week is off to a great start, mon amie!

Hugs
Sylvia

Ummmm,

I'll take one of each, s'il vous plait!

Trigger-finger is the best sort of finger to have in Paris, if you need it to create luscious shots like this.

Genie,

I'll take one of each! Those pastries look heavenly!

Your trigger finger served you well!

Ooh, now you're really tempting me! Not just to eat these, but to buy tickets for the next plane to Paris!!! And thank you so much for your sweet comment. I agree black and white is so beautiful. I think maybe I'll frame this one of my daughter. It will forever be the first black and white I think I really succeeded with!!!
Have a great week!

Love, Kristin

I don't understand why they object to taking pictures of their goodies. It happened to me in Barcelona, and they lost a sale because of it.

Yummy. You should be a photographer, or may you are. Your photos are fabulous.

I am so jealous! The bakeries around here only provide oddly colored cupcakes, and even then I can't buy just one. Manufactured blandness, for sure.

Alexa said...

I have pastries today too! But yours look so much better, Genie. Miam. Guess it's a good thing you didn't ask before you snapped, eh?

Loree said...

Oh Genie. Now I want one of each.

Hi Genie,

Gorgeous photograph!
That is one thing I adored in France the wonderful patisseries. I often wonder why you rarely see an overweight French person?

Happy week

Tu vex nous tenter avec toutes ces délices! Ce n'est pas juste....Moi aussi, quelques fois j'ai trouvé des gens qui ne voulaient pas que je prenais des photos.
Merci de tes visites et commentaires dans mon blog.

Yum! Double yum if they're served with bacon!

Excellent, Genie. Many of us live by the maxim that it is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Jack said...

I was just going to correct that by saying it is late and I meant axiom, but maxim works, too. G'nite.

Well, I think that we could have bought them out today. I have seen pastries in many countries and the styles may be different but each that I have tasted has been worthy of the calories. The only thing that I have tasted that is not to my liking is a "meringue" in Paris. They look fabulous, but they are too dry and I feel that I am eating something stale and crumbling. Please let me know if you know of a place that has something more like a chewy meringue. Merci!

I do not understand the "no photos" but will try not to get thrown behind bars. I know better than to photograph in a bank or a post office, but a pâtisserie? Give me a break!

Why are French women not heavy? I do not think that they eat much of this fare and walk miles!

Bises,
Genie

This is a photo just for me! Thank you, Genie! I don´t know this pâtisserie but I will go there next time I´m in 8ème...
And I have the same questions as you have :-)
Have a nice day

I don't think I've ever seen a 'dry' meringue. I like the chocolate meringues we get locally.

Now, this is too much! My mouth is just watering! :-)

Genie,

This is a gorgeous photo! Glad you were too quick for them :))
The glistening groseilles are calling me... yum!

Bibi, the strawberry for you... can you believe how huge they are?

Bergson, un régime pour toi? Ce n'est pas possible... tu es si mince, oui?

Hanna, look at my previous post about Julien and the pistache millefeuille! Miam-miam!

Starman, they are not like our meringues. I make meringues at Christmas and they are chewy and rich... The ones in Paris I have had are crumbly and chalky.

JM, they are tempting for sure!

Irina, with the groseilles we could claim that these little treats are good for you! merci

I have to wonder why they wouldn't want you to photograph, and thus advertise, their beautiful work! Go, trigger finger, go!
