Courtyard stairway

Peering into a quiet courtyard,
these steps and terrace were inviting us to enter.

The steps and terrace are inviting... the dark corner in the background, not so much ;-) Who knows what could be lurking there? Great shot Genie. Love the black and white. Veronique

Like the combination of the two balustrades

Love the B&W and the different balustrades and wrought iron detail you have captured. This is a great way to remind us that there are interesting photographic subjects everywhere you look! I hope you are home safe & sound!

A grey but generous welcome. Lovely textures in monochrome.

Genie,

This is gorgeous photo. I love the metal railing. Gorgeous! If I were in Paris, I would spend hours just walking around taking pictures. Sigh...Bet you are getting excited about your trip!

Elegant, Genie. I think we need to act like we belong. Take my arm, Genie, we are going in . . .

So decorative and beautiful. Love it in B&W.

This was a "locked" and gated entrance to a large home just outside of Parc de Monceau. The stairs led to a door, perhaps the back door of the mansion? The stone balustrade is an elevated "patio" although I am not certain of the French term other than terasse.

I often enter if there is a crack in the barrier, but this would have taken a climb over the top. Most of the gates have vertical bars and nothing to help one climb. (just kidding as I do not scale high gates with or without toe-holds!)

Welcome architecture, kate, and annabelle! Thanks to all for your comments and appreciation of the little secrets here. Just arrived home... two days and gone again.

Bises,
Genie
