Passage Jouffroy - II

In the filtered light of Passage Jouffroy, one can sit for a moment in a chair, have a sip of café, and then buy it all when one is ready to depart.

Let me understand this: an antique shop that serves coffee to potential customers? Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

I could at least sit and sip! That's a very appealing setting, Genie.

What a lovely place and those chairs look so comfortable.

There was a charming restaurant in Jupiter, Florida where the food was excellent and everything in the place was for sale. It was one of the most comfortable restaurants I've ever dined in.

Decisions, decisions ... Which chair to buy??? The sleek one for D's office or the tapestry one for my boudoir? Je vais acheter l'une et l'autre!!!!

Now that's what I call very 'civilized' Genie and if it was within my budget I would definitely take away a little something from a spot like this. Gorgeous relaxed image.

That is fabulous! And I wish I was there -- right now! Of course, as you know by now, I feel that way about all your lovely captures and they are indeed the next best thing to being there! Have a beautiful evening, Genie, mon amie!

Hugs
Sylvia

The chair is very chic and vase too.
Charming treasures!

Very ingenious idea! I imagine that customers might like that idea. Who wouldn't want to sit a spell, sip a cafe creme AND then go on a spending spree. Think of the energy you would have just after sipping on a strong cafe creme as only the French can make!

You have an evocative photo today. No people in the image, but we know they have recently been there. Who? What were they doing? Where are they now? Did something disrupt them?

The picture is so evocative of the sort of life I would like to have. Sitting and having coffee in Paris, what else can one desire?
Oh, I'm just reading what Jack has written before me. Funny, it was evocative for me too, but of myself dreaming to be there :-) It was me Jack!

That just ratcheted it up a notch for café sipping! :)

I like the chair that can barely be seen. Can't tell if it's French or Italian.e

My great aunt has a vase almost exactly like the one on the table. Excellent lighting.

Wonderful shot! But tell me, who stole the legs from the chair in the foreground? Was it you, by chance? Hmmm?

Birdman said...

I'll take either chair.

Oh the glorious passages of Paris! I can't wait to visit them all. Marvelous, happy shot.

I would have taken them both.

Although I cannot confirm this, my thoughts are that this is furniture for sale and that it has been "enjoyed" by the shopkeeper and a companion. I do not believe that they are "open for business" dispensing coffee and tea.

Jack and others, it does prompt some questions about "who was just here" and "why did they leave." Paul, we could ask them who took the chair leg, too.

I took this shot for the great light and shadows and for the bit of life seen in the cups.

Bises,
Genie

A quiet cup of tea. Perchance a camera, or a book to read. In the relaxing warm sun.
Looks pretty good to me.

Love how they left one cup on the chair!

As in, "I'll have a chair and table to go"? Une chaise et la table pour emporter! I love it!
