En Terrasse

Shall we dine in or enjoy sitting on the terrace? When I was there in April, these seafoam green café chairs would have beckoned but if it is a warm day in June, perhaps we'll be seated inside.

Boulevard Beaumarchais

Marais

My husband and I are off to see Holly et al this weekend and there will be much talk of Paris, the snow last December, and "when will we go again." I will be reading but not commenting much over the weekend -- Hope yours is wonderful! Bises

Hi genie,
I have photos for you. The window has changed once again but I have a confession - the window photo I took of repetto is in the saint Germain de press on rue du four.
It is still as lovely and their shows are to die for dancing or otherwise.
Your photo today has inspired us to hunt fir a cafe - I think a few moments of watching the world go by in Paris are in store.

Bon voyage. But first, let's share a sip of wine and a lovely pastry sitting outside on those comfortable cushions.

Love the contrast of the bright red cushions with the muted gray-almost a copper patina shade of green of the chairs! Hmmm, we must have been heading off somewhere or it may have been a bit early or else I think we would have had to stop, sit and enjoy s little Paris watching from here. Have a wonderful weekend with Holly et al. Beaucoup bisous ma chere amie ...

Those cushions are wonderful. I don't remember chairs like this when I was last visiting Paris--I would sit in one in a heartbeat!

Delightful picture with marvellous contrasts, as M has said.

I was thinking of having breakfast on our own, private terrsse, but it looks grey and cold outside. Tomorrow, peut-être?

Love the chairs and the table but I'm for once not in love with the rouge cushions! :) Let's sit outside no matter the heat. We get better people shots that way.
Bon weekend,
V

Yes it was warm when we were in Paris – can you believe that my husband made me go to MacDo so he could have a cold drink with plenty of ice? It rained 10 minutes on Monday morning 2 May near la gare du Nord and that was all for the rest of the 3 weeks. Tout était trop sec!

oh that seafoam green and red are stunning together...i'm there in my dreams!

For me it looks more interesting outside than inside....and comfortable!

Happy weekend Genie,

Why would you sit inside when the weather is good? Don't you like smoke?

My oh my -- how cozy and inviting! Wonderful contrast between the red and pale green; and the lighting/shadows are an added plus. Just perfect-- Here's wishing you ein schönes Wochenende! Stan

Your description of the color of the chair made me think of the chart I've seen of women's colors and men's colors. Men would say green, blue or red, whereas a woman has a dozen different names for green and all the other colors.

I guess all I can say is vive la difference. Bon weekend.

I have arrived chez Holly and we are already into the French mode... fresh baguettes (comme Paris) just picked up from the patisserie... asking her children's French nanny (Isabelle) about some tricky translations... Isabelle baking canelé de Bordeaux... miam-miam!

Off to "live on the levee," music on the river bank, with saucisson sec, baguettes, fromage, et vin rouge (Auxey-Duresses de Beaune)...

Bon weekend!

Sounds like you're already enjoying your weekend chez Holly et Cie! And I don't care how hot it is, it's outside on the soft red cushions, merci. (And I don't care that they hardly go with the lovely green chairs.)

Oh, I dunno, Genie. I like being outside in most weather (except for cold weather). This looks like a good spot.

Have fun with Holly and the famille.

This is interesting, it's a kind of chair you don't often see! Love the color combo.
