La Coupe d'Or
Sitting on Rue Saint-Honoré
at the corner of Rue du Marché Saint-Honoré
would be a nice spot for people-watching.
The reviews indicate that this may not be the best place for a meal,
but a quick café and a moment to rest one's feet
might be reason enough to stop.

A very stylish customer and a very curious waiter in this one Genie. I like the way the light has caught the waiters face.
this has a timeless feel, genie.
Bien sur, Genie, un café is all you need for a restful people watching experience. Great B&Wshot!
or quick trip to the loo .... ;)
Love the hat! Looks like same stop I made for cafe creme and a croissant on my way to Parc Monceau.
Oh, I would stop for the waiter alone. Look at that expression. Quintessentially French. Want to connect to my Dreaming of France meme today?
Doisneau would have been enthralled by this one Genie, perfect Paris capture.
I agree with Gracie! And I love the spot of light on the man's face, it's the detail that makes the picture precious! great shot, Genie!
Love the look on the waiter's face!
I was going to say what brattcat said. Especially in b&w, a timeless feel for sure.
What a great B and W photo. I could sit for hours just watching people, it is a wonderful past time :-) Have a good week Diane
Sometimes people-watching trumps food! And a cafe trumps all!
What a great find your blog is..! I'm enjoying your pithy descriptions (and no - I don't have a lisp!) as much as your images.
It's now 1am - I'll be back for more tomorrow!
I'm sure I'm not the first person to suggest this - but there's a book (or two) here.

Great looking b&w photo. I love it.
It is a classic Parisian scene, Genie. The black and white is perfect for this image.
To me the waiter is "classic French" with attire, stance, and attitude. I thought that the woman seated had an amused expression and I wish that I had panned my camera to the left for another click.
Thank you all for the comments, and Starman, I am glad that you did not scold me for a b/w. It just had to be b/w although the soft golden light tempted me for a moment.
Pip, welcome and come often.
Bises,
Genie
Ah, yes; a place to stop, think, drink coffee, argue politics, and write.
Enjoyable as always, Genie.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
