Île de la Cité - les serveurs

Les Serveurs

Dressed perfectly for the job,
waiters are perhaps one of my favorite subjects in Paris

I did not exactly ask for permission
but I pointed to my camera
and tilted my head posing the unspoken question.
With a slight nod, permission was given.

La Palette - "Respectez Nos Voisins"

La Palette
the terrace

As the rain fills the streets and sidewalks of Paris,
a covered terrace is much sought after.
Finding a seat here at La Palette is an extra bonus.

La Palette - le bar

La Palette

The rainy day refuge was a photographer's delight
as we enjoyed the classic French fare and a glass of bubbly.
The weather provided the drama.

Il pleuvait des cordes!

(It was raining cats and dogs - loosely translating here,
but I am sure that you know some other French expressions
for an abundance of rain)

La Coupe d'Or

La Coupe d'Or

Sitting on Rue Saint-Honoré
at the corner of Rue du Marché Saint-Honoré
would be a nice spot for people-watching.

The reviews indicate that this may not be the best place for a meal,
but a quick café and a moment to rest one's feet
might be reason enough to stop.

Rue Auber - le serveur

2012 Oct 6 Saturday_8DSC_8602

A cafe on Rue Auber

A classic street scene in any part of Paris.
This cafe is just around the corner from Cafe de la Paix
and probably not as expensive.

You still get a great view of Palais Garnier
from this sidewalk terrace.

Le Marais - le samedi midi

What is it about French waiters that is so charming and photogenic?

A regular Saturday in the Marais... would love to be there right now!
