L'heure bleue - musée du Louvre

L'heure bleue
(The blue hour)

It is a magical time in Paris when the sun goes down
and the sky becomes a palette of soft watercolors
in shades of blue and violet and pink.

bon weekend

Beautiful scene. It looks balmy even though I know it isn't.

J'aime beaucoup ce moment de la journée...
Cela donne des lumières et des couleurs très artistiques,
Belle journée,

I totally agree. The effects of the colours are enhance by the fact that you can actually see the sky over the low building in the heart of Paris. Bisous

Hello Genie:
Blue, blue, the world is blue.....

This is a truly stunning image. The Pyramid appears like a giant ice cube floating on a frozen lake. Wonderful!

Stay warm and take care.Happy weekend!

Ce monument très décrié à sa construction est devenu incontournable dans le paysage parisien. Cela fait réfléchir.

You know Genie, I love anything to do with The Louvre. It makes me think of The Da Vinci Code!

Beautiful! Oh to be watching the sun set in Paris...

And I'll bet I would love Mardi Gras. Anything involving so much colour and frivolity is a big win to me!

Interesting image,I don't think I've seen the pyramid from this angle and certainly not at this time of day.
Love the subtle colours.

Happy weekend Genie!

That is the most striking photo I've seen of the pyramid. Love it in that light.

Thank you all for your Valentine comments. I was a bit surprised that no one noticed the large red lock in the photo which was ours, the photo of which was taken that evening. I counted the steps from the third pole on the right from the right bank. It was certainly a large (American) lock, and worthy of pruning. I am on the hunt for a very small heart-shaped lock for the next time.

I hope that each of you had chocolates, champagne, and roses for your Valentine Day.

Bises,
Genie

I love to see this in person one day.

Well, since I put the above comment on the wrong post, I will try again...

There is something quite compelling about the Louvre, even this I M Pei structure that caused so much of a stir when it was created. This is my second most favorite photo of the Pyramid, the other a shot of golden reflections of the full moon rising over the Louvre and seen through the triangle prisms of the Pyramid.

I cannot get enough and each moment gives off a different element of magic. It pains me that I am missing some of those right now!

Bon weekend....

Bises,
Genie

Beautiful. I like the way the large pyramid is echoed in the smaller shape.

This is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed just around the corner from this spot during the holidays this year. The light...the stars...the sparkling Eiffel Tower. Magnificent.
What a lovely blog! I look forward to following.
Cheers, Heather

Il y a toujours des contestataires à toutes nouveautés.
A Lyon quand Jean Nouvel a rénové l'opéra !!! Petit exemple.

I definitely love it then it's quite funny because I thought to be almost the only one to believe in the blue time to take best photos of my city :-)
