Jardin du Luxembourg - Marrons chauds?

Jardin du Luxembourg

Marrons chauds, Chupa-Chups, an embrace, a sideways glance...

Despite this being a city of rules and red tape,
I do not think that these two gendarmes were going to check her license and work papers.

souriant...

Hello Genie:
We have similar chestnut sellers here on the streets of Budapest throughout the winter months. We love them for the 'local colour' which they bring to our daily lives.

This shot made me smile Genie. The gendarme on the left seems so amused by the advances of his friend and the Madam Chestnut seems a little taken aback. Grin.

A cheeky image. A fine example of "a picture speaks a thousand words".
I haven't heard from you for a while. I trust all is running smoothly in your corner of the world Genie. Bisous

The lady seems not so amused to be embraced, but the two gendarmes do..., you can make a story with this photo!

So, what can we deduce from one smiling gendarme, one gendarme up close and personal in the face of a chestnut vendor? "Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't."

Starman said...

Did they kiss before or after you took your shot?

Martine, I am so glad to know that you have returned. I have a difficult time in emptying my suitcase after a trip, lingering in the glow of memories. Re-entry is hard! Congratulations to your son and son-in-law. I know that you are proud of your gendarmes.

This cheerful woman is a regular at this eastern entrance to the gardens. I believe that the two gendarmes know her well. Kristie, I do not recollect. It was happening so quickly and Virginia, Holly and I looked like crazy paparazzi snapping photos of this scene. I do love this candid slice of Parisian Sunday afternoon life.

Thank you for all your interest and comments. As we say in the South, thank all y'all.

Bises,
Genie

Une photo digne de Cartier Bresson. Rappelez-vous, *le baiser*, à la libération de Paris.
