Un mélange...
café scene, an American newspaper, a zinc bar,
three people who did not show their faces,
and one photographer who did.
Do you think they were hiding from me?

It's hard to say..The woman looks as though she may be getting a headache. She looks how I feel somedays! HAH!
Have a great weekend!
i have to agree with Kristie, I feel the same way and it's been really hot here today so I'd be hiding from anyone with a camera!! Terrific capture for the day, Genie! I love it! Hope you have a lovely weekend! Enjoy!!
Hugs

Hello Genie:
We doubt very much that they were hiding from you, just simple involved, as we should say, in 'affairs of state'.
No , they're not hiding. They're resting after a hard walk or hard day, happy to be sitting at last..
The do, indeed, look like they have had a long day. Now you're going to tell us you took this pic at 10:00 a.m. But some people can have a very long day between eight and ten in the morning. Or midnight and eight.
No, not hiding, you took just the best position for your pic! Very nice!
Regards and nice weekend!
Love the composition ... and seeing your pink jacket and the Bagalini brings back memories and makes me happy!
Absorbed in their own worlds they may not notice you, even in your colourful attire. They might however be escaping the outside chill!
Happy weeked!
Ruby
I think she's having trouble deciding which bière to order! :)

I see the empty chairs outside and the chairs in use inside... So it's winter in Paris... ;)
I think that she is reacting to what is being read to her from the newspaper. Something like senior benefits to be cut!
Looks like you've given us all food for thought with this one, Genie!
The only one possibly hiding would be the person on the left. But he/she looks more like he/she is in pain.
I think they were hiding from you Genie particularly he person with her head in her hands.
Very nice capture. I wonder what they are talking about.
Love reading your comments. In reconstructing the scene, it was taken early morning (around 8am) so they may have had a long night. Although they have on coats, it was the third week of April and quite seasonably warm. There was enough of a chill in the early morning air that most café customers were inside.
I assumed that they were Parisians, but seeing the Herald Tribune I have reconsidered.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Bises,
Genie
c'est le petit chaperon rouge qui a pris cette photo
hee hee...
Neat capture for Weekend Reflections, Genie!
American tourists in Paris after a late night! I'd like to be sitting in a cafe in Paris after a late night Genie, how fab would that be. I wonder when you click on the link you've given here, it asks if you are 18yrs old, is that because the content is about alcohol Genie?
Neat capture! Maybe the woman is on vacation and she's spending way more money than she planned for. :)
