le Jardin des Plantes
This stegosaurus (le stégosaure) hides behind the lush green ferns just in front of
"Galeries d'Anatomie comparée et de Paléontologie." The gallerie was opened in 1898, offering a vast landscape of bones. On the 1st floor, is a fabulous collection of fossils, both vertebrate and invertebrate: dinosaurs, mastadons and giant birds, arranged in order of their appearance on Earth.

I have accepted the challenge of Rob and Mandy (and Grace)
to show 5 colors featured in photos.
This is my bow to green, le vert.

Looks like he/she is having a good dinner!
Love this museum and its grounds. Best use of lighting I've ever seen in a museum.
Now this would be a fabulous to explore.
Hello Genie:
What a perfect combination, a dinosaur and a fern, both of which have their origins in prehistory.
We love the way that the creature is lurking under the swathes of lush foliage, just as if waiting to pounce on any unwary passer by!
For a moment we can forget we're in the city.......though it might be exhilarating to meet him on a country walk!

Very cleverly staged and beautifully photographed!
I'm sorry now that I didn't take Eva and Davis inside although at 4 Davis might not have been into the bones as much as he would now!

J'aime le jardin des plantes!! It's the perfect place for a picnic (as long as you can hide the wine bottle..they aren't big fans of glass on the property)!
Haven't seen this but would love to. Any more dinosaurs?
Been there....loved it!!!!
Oh i love this photo, Genie! The setting, the green, and especially 'Steggie'. Wonderful. And green is such a quiet, warm color..
Well placed—and well photographed! Looking forward to the rest of your colors, Genie.
Mary, what a cute nickname "Steggie" and I think that it suits him!
Jacqueline, that is what you use the empty plastic water bottle for, hehehe.
Jane and Lance, you would love the museum. It almost seems like a movie set and a slice of times past.
C, I think that I will see this museum on my next trip with a camera that will capture the lighting better. It is stunning.
Bear, it does look like he is munching the green ferns!
Bises,
Genie
Love your green image Genie, exciting and unexpected to find a stegosaurus lurking about in the greenery oui!
I know it makes me GREEN with envy that you are able to trek all over Paris in search of treasures like Steggie. Thanks, Lisa
Fantastic! This seems to have been taken from Jurassic Park. So 'real'! :-)
Hmmm...thought these were extinct!!!
