Terrasse de Café
Paris in autumn
Café scene on the broad sidewalk
of Avenue Daumesnil...
Even the late afternoon sun has the
warm glow of autumn

Quai de Bourbon - l'automne
Quai de Bourbon
Looking towards Pont Louis-Philippe from Pont Marie,
the quai and the riverside walk are almost deserted.
Golden leaves will soon be swept from frail branches into the Seine.
Within a month, this will be a monochrome palette,
save the red doors and a few window boxes.
Paris will take on her winter beauty

L'automne - Jardin du Palais Royal
Autumn in Paris
The deciduous trees of Paris will shed their leaves
over the next few months.
Although the weather was sunny and warm during our time in Paris,
the leaves are dropping as seen in this photo of Jardin du Palais Royal.
We were a bit disappointed that the fountain was turned off.

Canal Saint Martin - en automne
Canal Saint Martin
The patches of blue sky were trumped by
the electric shades of orange and yellow alongside the canal.

Village Saint Paul - le Marais
Quiet courtyard
The last golden leaves of autumn cling tenuously to the branch
and they echo my feelings of departing Paris.
I know when it is time to leave for home,
clinging to the memories,
and knowing that there will be another autumn in Paris,
just as there will be another winter and spring and summer.
The photos are a daily reminder...

Rue du Cardinal Lemoine - a courtyard for all seasons
Courtyard
Rue du Cardinal Lemoine
Palms, wisteria, fatsia, evergreens, honeysuckle,
and the climbing vines that turn electric shades of yellow, orange and red in autumn.
I will have to check out this courtyard in the other seasons.
I think that it was designed for appeal no matter the time of year.

La Tour Eiffel - la réflexion
A familiar reflection...
How could a puddle on Champ de Mars be a pleasing sight?
When it reflects the golden lights of la Tour Eiffel.

Pont Notre Dame - l'automne
Pont Notre Dame
The late afternoon sun drenched the trees
along the Quai de Gesvres giving them a golden orange glow.
If you look under the arch of the bridge,
you can see their reflections in the Seine.

Feuilles orange de l'automne
Orange autumn leaves
The window shades on this quiet street in the 5ième
match perfectly the autumn leaves.
Paris was dressed in her colorful finery last week
and the leaves held on through our sojourn.
