artists ranging from design artists, textiles,

furniture-making, printmaking,

parapluies (umbrellas), musical instruments,

jewelry, porcelain, and more.

The studios have full glass fronts which 

allow the flâneur a clear view of the studios within.

Gant d'un artisan

In the window of the artists who hand-paint the bone china, we saw this glove (gant) and purple glasses. The artisan-owner must have been out to déjeuner.

Wish that we had seen her at work.

Wedding gown - reflection

One of the many windows in the ateliers of le Viaduc des Arts, this gown is centered in a gilt frame for viewing. This restored railway viaduc has sixty arches in which are housed cabinetmakers, musical-instrument makers, fashion designers, textile restorers, and other fine crafts/arts.

This Paris walk of window-shopping is found on Avenue Daumesnil between Bastille and Jardin de Reuilly in the 12ième arrondissement. If you tire of the street view, you can ascend the many staircases to the Promenade Plantée, the old train track line itself for a walk above the streets and sidewalks.

Terrasse Chauffée

Avenue Daumesnil is the scene of roller skaters on Sunday afternoons with an obstacle course of botttles and an audience of the café patrons. Despite the awning sign "Terrassee Chauffée" (heated terrace) there were no people on this frigid day.
