Oh great, Meeps got a load of this shot and now she's howling to go to Paris iwth me. And is that a LEASH? I tried that when Meeps was a kitten and she laid down and I had to drag her across the floor like a Swiffer!
What a fantastic street scene indeed! And great characters! Love the cat and he/she does look so French!! Love all of your characters for today, Genie, as always! Hope your week is off to a great start, mon amie!
He/she looks to be a Sealpoint Siamese. They are very loving and intelligent cats. I once had a Bluepoint Siamese...who have a lighter color. I was told that they are one mastered cats and found that to be true.
I would say he/she is just taking it all in...as I would be doing. Gosh, French people even look tres chic smoking LOL
Great shot, Genie. Very unusual too. This is a very "French-looking" family! Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment today. I will be following yours from now on. Can't get enough pics of Paris and France since I live in Seattle! ;-) Veronique aka French Girl in Seattle
So charming, Genie! Don't you love the way Parisians will take their animals out before they take the kids? BTW, Louis, it's miaou. Starman -- I had a cat in Paris (a Siamese too), but it never once occurred to me to do this!
Hi Genie! Oh my goodness it's been way to long since I visited your beautiful blog! I just love how animal friendly they are in Paris! What a wonderful and beautiful chat. *winks* Vanna

I bet he's there for the people watching. :)
La Tartare de Thon et une soucoupe de lait, s'il vous plaît! Thanks for the charming photo, Genie! ^_^
Ne soyez pas dupé; il est là pour les souris.
Yet another GHOB...er...silver-blondilver
Ha, love it! Why should dogs have all the fun?
There's so much to observe from there! and cats are so curious...
Yeah, French people are so French!
So even Paris has crazy cat people? That's a beautiful cat, Genie, and a seriously impressive beard.
Très originale cette photo, car on voit rarement un chat à une terrasse de café!
Oh, he is a beauty, he is sitting there to be admired I think....
That is hilarious Genie, how can even le chat look so very, very French, he has that 'aloof' air about him as he casually checks passers by!!
Somehow, I don't see Zut or Bina sitting at a cafe so well behaved!
Comment dit-on «meow» à Paris?
... or just a pet or two.

I think she is waiting for the server to bring her a dish of liver paté.
I can't remember ever seeing a chat in Paris. How very unusual.
Cool customer!
You found some great characters for this photo, Genie.
I agree with the James :)
Nice street catch

Interesting. Never seen a cat out and about. Dogs yes.
So charming, Genie! Don't you love the way Parisians will take their animals out before they take the kids?
BTW, Louis, it's miaou.
Starman -- I had a cat in Paris (a Siamese too), but it never once occurred to me to do this!
That's a seriously big cat! Seems happy in his/her surroundings, though.
Cute:)
Gee, I remember people coming to cafes with their dogs, but never cats. Ah, Paris...

Well, French cats are very sociable and trendy! :)
He fits the scene so.. well -Sophisticated - suave - intelligent oh! and sporting red leather collar!!
beau gosse -- Bien sûr! Can't you just see him licking his chops for some tuna!
Bear, and yes, he is a bit of a show-off!
dive -- Be careful about referring to cat people as crazy (sourire)
Voyages et Abstraits -- C'est la première fois pour moi, certainnement!
James and Grace, yes, he is there to observe and to be admired, comme un chat!
Holly, my dear, you had Funny who did cartwheels on a leash! Do not try this with Zut and Bina
Louis -- Alexa answered... miaou, miaou!
V -- Hummmm... Swiffer or cartwheels? Makes me think that cats should not be on leashes
louciao -- Agreed. Cats wait somewhat patiently to be worshipped and served.
Starman, I think that I have another unusual cat photo that I have not posted
Kris, I have had several Siamese during my years and my last (best) was a Chocolate Point Siamese who looked very much like Mr. Cool here.
Halcyon -- I think that the restaurants of Paris tolerate pets of any kind better than young children (for the most part)
Alexa -- too funny and thanks for the miaou... One more thing we have in common... Siamese
Alan -- He does seem to be a lap-full!
Dianne and DeeBee -- He was so cool and undisturbed by being in a café that I almost missed seeing him. He just seemed to be a part of the scene!
Thanks for all the comments on le chat du café. It makes me glad that I almost fell on my nose putting on the brakes and whipping out the camera.
Bises,
Genie
A great shot like this is worth a scraped nose!
For people watching, I guess.
Hee! A wondrous thing. {I hope the smoking lady exhaled away from him!!}
I'm a crazy cat person myself, Genie. Hee hee.
I miss my Siamese cat now. He's so pretty and very sophisticated sitting on a lap in a cafe, being well behaved.
Sam
LOVE!! Classic French scene, awesome.
He's there because the bearded guy has a death-grip on his collar, haha. I wonder what he would be doing if he wasn't constrained?
Liz, he would be doing cartwheels or making like a swifter.... Or just sitting in the middle of the table, comme un chat!
He's bird watching.
I think he's waiting for his mouse and wine.
