Quai de Bourbon

A View along the Seine

The narrow strip is shared with the trees
showing the new leaves of spring.

A single flaneur has the space to himself...

Quai de Bourbon - l'automne

Quai de Bourbon

Looking towards Pont Louis-Philippe from Pont Marie,
the quai and the riverside walk are almost deserted.
Golden leaves will soon be swept from frail branches into the Seine.
Within a month, this will be a monochrome palette,
save the red doors and a few window boxes.

Paris will take on her winter beauty

Une papeterie à Paris

a stationer's shop
(papeterie)

There are at least four things in this window
on Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe that should have been bought for gifts.
This street, just north of the Seine,
has an abundance of charming little shops,
several of which have papers and books like this one.

Pont Louis-Philippe - Île Saint-Louis

2013 0522 Wed_461DSC_6072

Pont Louis-Philippe

Yes, the rain was relentless,
but Paris keeps moving without regard to the weather.

This stone arch-bridge connects the Quai de Bourbon
on the Île Saint-Louis with the Saint-Gervais neighborhood on the right bank.
It is decorated with stone laurel wreaths
surrounding metallic rosettes which are best seen from the Seine.
