Des fleurs de Montmartre

Although areas of Montmartre may be filled
with tourists, you can find quiet streets
and picturesque scenes as you move away from

Rue de l'Estrapade

With the photo taken through an impressive gate,
I wondered what it would be like
to call this place home.

Rue Cambon

Window boxes in Paris
are often abloom with geraniums
providing color above the city streets
well into the winter months

Do you recognize the dome reflection
in the upper left window?

Rue Crémieux

Rue Crémieux

Bicycles, red geraniums in window boxes,
wrought iron, a resident cat (or two)...

Love this quiet rue

Carriage lamps and red geraniums

The clear Paris sky
provided a serene backdrop
for these carriage lamps
and red geranium flower boxes

l'apartement

With a grand piano,
art, a wall of books in French,
and fabulous views,
even the laundry looked better
from this 6th floor window

Jardinières avec des fleurs rouges

Window boxes

On the second floor of this building in the Marais
the bleeding heart flowers and masses of red blooms
first caught my eye.

The giant thermometer which could be read
from the street was a fascination.

La porte et les fleurs

The window boxes in Paris
bloom most of the year.

The shadows and reflection add a softness
to the many details of this one doorway,
one among thousands.

Rue Gabrielle - 'shabby chic'

Rue Gabrielle
Montmartre

The dark reflection in the old glass panes
adds to the mystery of this premier étage.
The trace of last year's vines
and the slant of the frame itself are in stark contrast
with the fresh red geraniums.

I will take this "shabby chic" any day

Les fleurs dans la fenêtre

Red Geraniums

No matter the season,
you can always find geraniums
blooming in the window boxes of Paris' upper floors.

Chez Julien - les fleurs

Chez Julien

The flower boxes of Paris are a ubiquitous presence in all parts of the city,
and the red geraniums are quite hardy lasting until winter.

Rue Audran

Rue Audran

The casual, slightly askew collection of flowers, plants and pots
is perfect for the little workshop of two potters.

I must go back for another visit

Beaucoup de Fleurs

Beaucoup de Fleurs

On a quiet street just
east of the Eiffel Tower you can find some exquisite Paris  architecture.
This building boasts flowers in both the design and the window boxes.

Les fenêtres de Paris

Windows of Paris

If I lived in Paris I would have the perfect shade of blue shutters
and window boxes with pink geraniums.

Then, I would have a party and invite each of you.

As long as I am dreaming, it might as well
be the way I want it, n'est-ce pas?
