City Daily Photo - "Where I Belong"

Theme Day for the City Daily Photo group
this month is "Where I Belong." Although I have many
favorite places in Paris, my happiest times are spent
with family or friends at a café terrace.  Although I have sat in
winter months with a drizzling rain and a lab robe for warmth,
this spring scene with blue skies and warm sun is perfect.

See where other CDP photographers feel they "belong"

Tu veux du thé?

You would like tea?

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and you could
really impress with Nina's tea on this service tray.

Nina's  was founded in 1672 when Pierre Diaz
created "La Distillerie Frères." It was the first company
to distill lavender essential oils in France and became
known for their art of creating fragrances.

Le Café des Chats - un chat

One of the many cat residents displays
the mood and character of this salon de the.
All of the cats have been adopted from shelters and
are under the care of veterinarians.

The 'house rules' are simple: do not wake a sleeping cat;
wash your hands before petting the cats; no feeding the cats;
and, this is my favorite, no cat has to do anything s/he does not want to do.
Sounds like a great life to me.

La Journée de Pi

Pi day of the century

π - not pie actually
(a pun)

Saturday, March 14, 2015 is Pi Day, a celebration of the irrational number
that describes the ratio of a circle’s diameter to its circumference.
Pi is approximately 3.141592653, but it continues at random to infinity.
No matter how many numbers after the decimal place you use,
the only way to get it exactly is to use the symbol pi (π)

I love math and numbers as well as pie,
so treat yourself to a slice of pie (or tart, if you will)

Buveuses de thé

Tea drinkers

On a brisk afternoon we found we found
these women enjoying tea in the winter sun.

I wonder if they knit as well?

Chocolat Foucher - chocolatier confiseur

Foucher
Maison de Chocolat depuis 1819

Rue du Bac is a meandering shopping street just behind Bon Marché.
This may be the "home" boutique for these fine chocolats,
and it even offers a salon de thé for a quiet respite from the holiday shopping.

I could imagine finishing the gift list with selections of chocolates
and then settling in for a chocolat chaud for myself.
