Patisserie reflet - Le Moulin de la Vierge

Le Moulin de la Vierge

Although there are several of these boulangeries in Paris,
this is the original shop with its wood-fired ovens.

It is worth a trip to Rue Vercingétorix
to gaze at the original tiles and mirrors,
etched glass doors, all
unchanged over the past century.

bon weekend

Le Moulin de la Vierge - III

Le Moulin de la Vierge

About a year ago I posted about Le Mouline de la Vierge
and the great history of the boulangerie on Rue Vercingétorix in the 14ème.

This second of four shops also has the historic building classification
and is found on Rue Saint-Dominique.
Of the four photos I took from this vantage point,
there were seven other people seen coming/going through the doors,
all with baguettes!

I should have made a purchase

Le Moulin de la Vierge II

Le Moulin de la Vierge

This boulangerie sits in a wasteland of drab buildings in the 14ème,
a single jewel rescued from the wrecking ball.

It has tile walls
a wood-fired oven
murals of women carrying armfuls of wheat
etched glass doors
delicious breads, and...
