un petit bistrot

On a cold day
a cosy bistrot
provides a respite
from the wind and rain

Having lunch like a Parisian
with no place special to be
is a wonderful luxury

Printemps - 2006

Printemps
Christmas Windows 2006

The artistry and animation of the Printemps windows
 in 2006 were remarkable,
and there was no corporate name associated for promotion.
There was no Chanel, Lagerfeld, etc.

The theme, I suppose, was dancing pots and pans,
and each window had distinctive bright colors.
I thought you would like a vivid photo of the 2006 windows.

Dalloyau

Dalloyau

Definitely some shades of pink here!

The pastries are divine, beautifully served
with tea or coffee, or
wrapped like a present to take home.

Une bicyclette rose

A pink bicycle

No, this is not one of the bikes from Le Tour de France,
but a bright statement of maman and her little one.

Des chaussures roses

Pink shoes...

Seen walking down Boulevard Beaumarchais

It was a "sweater day" in late spring,
but this person was bundled for the cold.

Rue de l'Abreuvoir

Rue de l'Abreuvoir

Just a few steps away from La Maison Rose (a brighter shade of rose) is this charming home, well kept and beautifully adorned with the spring cascades of lavender wisteria.

As much as I love the look of wisteria, it is quite a nuisance and must be properly corralled.  It has been known to kill trees with its heavy weight.

Fauchon - la terrasse

2012 Mar 28 Paris_261DSC_4616

Fauchon
Rose Foncé

The terrace of Fauchon  looks to be a great spot for tourists (Coca-Light) but the Parisians enjoy the ultra-gourmet selections in both of the Madeleine locations.  Fauchon is a French gourmet food company that was founded in 1886 by Auguste Fauchon. The company is based in Paris and operates retail outlets.

This terrace is one of two options for casual dining at this Fauchon location.

The éclairs are divine

Repetto XIII - "pink"

Repetto pink

Repetto's windows are perhaps my favorite
and definitely the most anticipated on each trip.
The main store on Rue de la Paix is just a short block from Métro Opéra.

Today is the first day of September and is Theme Day for the City Daily Photo community.  Please click here to see all the posts on our theme this month:

Les arbres de printemps

Montmartre

If you see this tree in the winter,
you would not even take a second glance.

In spring, it steals the show.

Printemps - un lapin énorme!

2011 April 13 DSC_0343

Printemps

The grands magasins of Paris are known for their window displays.
In 2011 each of the Printemps windows featured fashion and an animal.

The rose foncé (bright pink) rabbit of roses stole the scene

Square Boucicaut - en l'été

Square Boucicaut

Early in the morning, this little pocket of a park was empty
except for the gardener.

Paris is often late to rise,
and you can have her almost to yourself
if you are an early bird.
