Porte d'entrée

2013 0520_323DSC_4956

Front door of No. 28

The stone and timber construction of this home
is punctuated with the weathered, but sturdy, door.

Each of the homes along the main street
leading to the Upper town of Provins is graced with lace curtains.
From the bolted repairs of this door,
one might think it abandoned,
but the delicate touch of fabric at the windows says otherwise.

Calling this door "weathered" is being very kind. I wonder why they didn't replace it?

Gee there is much character in this front door Genie. My heart would beat in anticipation if I knocked on this one.

What a handsome door. And don't you just love the curtains?

Repairs, and it is still all leaning. Fix the old, no need to replace.

Oh this is so lovely Genie! What a fascinating, wonderful home, and how fortunate the people who live in it!

This door definitely looks like it's been around awhile, doesn't it? Why replace it when it still serves its purpose so charmingly?

Love this! Are you joining the "Wednesday doorway" small company?
(We're 2 or 3 to post doors on that day)

This is a real charmer, Genie. The stone. The weathered wood. The grillwork. Nice!
