Hello Genie: For ourselves, we are great lovers of 'shabby chic' as we are of this kind of entrance door, tucked away, paint peeling, surrounding foliage somewhat overgrown. The whole suggests a certain intrigue and mystery, and thus fascinates.
Inside lives a grand old lady with a bouffant of grey hair tangled loosely together with ivory chopsticks. She is enveloped in a worn armchair which appears oversized. She is waiting patiently for a rap on the door as she was yesterday and the day before. Her name is Wisteria.
What a deep, marvelous shade of red it is too! I love it when i go for my walks and see pretty kitties peering at me through the windows. It's as if they're saying .. 'i want to walk with you, and see what i can see out there!'

Oh, how I would love to have my own red door and/or vine-framed window in Paris (you too, I'll bet)!

It has a rather mysterious feel to it. I love red doors of all colors and the draping vine just makes it all the more interesting.
