As the temperatures in Paris are rising, it seems a good time to recall a familiar setting in a colder month. This photo was taken in April at Jardin des Tuileries while walking and shooting with Marie and Peter.
I loved the contrast with this winter scene of the same pond when Holly and I were there in early December. You can see the full-sized original post here.

They are both beautiful but I find I prefer the winter scene! Just look at those little tracks!
Both are soooo romantic!it must be Paris's air...:)
I love your post and its beautiful pictures...feels like I am there.
I don't know why, but the winter image reminds me of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe book! I love seeing these two images together, Genie.
Both images are spectacular, I just love it there, do you have a preference Genie? Must be great to walk there all rugged up to keep warm and also with a pretty dress in Spring/Summer. So, so lucky you are!
Best wishes
Grace
BRRRRR chilly but a nice reminder of colder times. Every season is a blessing for us photographers.
It has certainly thawed out and come to life...such a contrast in the trees!
Perfect reminder of why we love Paris regardless of the season!
I prefer Spring time, but both pictures are fabulous! This garden is very special!
bisous
Léia
I dream of sitting on that little bench over to the left. I could use a day like that!
This is *heaven*. I want to be there so bad . . . . xo
Oh this is fun to see the two seasons side by side. I think printemps would be my favorite! :)
Great shots of the same place! I would say that my favourite would be the wintery one, but if I had to actually stand in the picture and experience the weather I would choose spring time! In any case, those Parisian gardens are just gorgeous. Well done in capturing them both :)
Gorgeous captures, Genie, and how I would love to be sitting there -- winter or spring! Hope you have a lovely weekend, mon ami! Enjoy!
Sylvia
Both lovely shots...
but looks real different ♥
Have a nice weekend...
What a nice and serene looking spot. Nice photos also!
Whatever season, rain or shine.. Paris is extraordinarily fine -; .. Incredible that the water bamboo or whatever the plants in the pond are, survived.
Nice picture... And it is a very good idea to put the link to the winter one : comparing those two is so fun !
Lovely...both times of the year...but I'm gravitating toward the winter, snowy one...perhaps it's because I've gotten so used to snow???
Genie
Both photos are simply beautiful! I would love to sit there winter or spring...
Thank you for visiting Bebe in France. Yes, she is having the time of her life.
au revoir
Penny
One of my favorite spots in any season. It's nice to see the photos together.
That's a beautiful shot of a wonderful place. Whenever I see photographs from there I think of my mother because we had so much fun walking in that garden when I was a teenager and we were visiting France. Then many years after that I was able to take my daughter there and we also had a great mother daughter time.
Je préfère l'automne!! Septembre est parfait.
Thanks for proof positive that it's gorgeous at any and all times of the year!
Shelley -- I love the warmth of spring but would not trade anything for having been there when there was snow
Malyss -- Definitely!
Linda -- I believe that photos can transport you to a place... merci!
Shell -- Brrrrrr... it does indeed!
Grace -- In general my preference would be spring but winter made for some beautiful photos and not many tourists in my shots - hehe
Picturit -- Absolutely... we can find a shot in just about any condition
Janey -- I was there and it is still hard to believe that it is the same place!
Marie -- Tu as raison, mon amie!
Léia -- Moi aussi... bon weekend, mes amis
Tammy -- There is no shortage of benches in Paris but in the winter, those metal ones are quite frosty!
AA -- Alons-y, mon amie!
Virginia -- Let's not wait for printemps to roll around
Brittany -- Many thanks... in terms of the photos, the winter scene is much more dramatic... each season has its benefits for a photographer
Sylvia -- I would love to be sitting there chatting with you... but let's say printemps if it is all the same to you (wink)
pretty place in all seasons
Ann -- Merci... I cannot believe the difference of a few months
Pat -- Right about now in summer it is less serene with all the tourists... glad you like the photos
anni -- Yes, in spite of being frozen in December... wow!
'Tsuki -- It looked so different in April that only the statue on the right told me I was in the same place
Chieftess -- You have gotten used to the snow and I do hope you are finished for the season... It's summer!
Penny -- Merci, mon amie... Bebe would love this garden scene
James -- Merci, my West Coast ami...
Carver -- I have enjoyed Paris for many years with one of my daughters... I wish that I had seen it with my mom when I was a teenager... I might have never left
Starman -- Well, I hope to try that, Mr. Star
Alexa -- As you know I live in a place that does not have these contrasts... I adore the uniqueness of Paris
Dianne -- Merci, my friend
Both lovely, I find the winter one more romantic.
It's beautiful in both seasons! I have to agree with Karen on the winter scene.
The seasons change; so do the views. C'est très bien!
Karen -- Dare I say that it reminds me of a garden in the shadow of an ice palace... merci!
Randy -- Merci, mon ami
Bear -- You bring the wisdom of a wise bear who has seen many changes, comme moi.
Beautiful one!
Happy weekend reflections.
xo
Regina -- Merci, and happy Independence Day to you and your country...
Very nice gardens-in any season. Have a lovely Sunday. Mickie :)
Visiting the same spot at different seasons and even different times can be a very rewarding project.
I love the shot of the stained glass window. It's breathtaking.
Romantic pictures with a special light? Paris has a lot of gardens, small gardens behind forgotten walls with reptiles and flowers witch growing on the top of a wall.
Your special eye for these elements is alway's a party;)
best wishes,
Henk.
