Cathédral Saint-Alexandre-Nevsky

Cathédral Saint-Alexandre-Nevsky

The bright skies of a clear autumn day
accentuate the gold domes of Cathédral Saint-Alexandre-Nevsky.
Although no photography was allowed inside,
the view of the low sun reflecting on the domes was sufficient.

To read more about this cathedral
and to see another view,

Metro sign

2012 Mar 30 Paris_122DSC_5070

The high post with its lighted "M" is one of my favorite Metro signs
particularly when seen against a clear Paris sky

Hôtel de Béthune-Sully

The Orangerie
or second courtyard

The Hôtel de Béthune-Sully is a hôtel particulier, a private mansion,
in the Louis XIII style, located in the Marais.
If you enter from Rue Saint-Antoine and walk through the first paved courtyard,
you will enter the formal garden of this 17th century home.

On this bright day we found a pleasing arrangement of architectural details,
a blue sky, and a fading contrail.

Haut les mains!

Victoria Antiquités

These hands appear to be touching the blue skies of Paris

They were over a corner shop, Victoria Antiquités,
which displayed a wealth of treasures in the store windows.

Quelle est la température?

Il fait 20°C donc bon. The working celsius thermometer on the exterior wall, première étage, affords the entire street a handy means to tell the temperature. The beautiful window boxes along this street in the Marais just add to the scene (36, rue du Poitou). The thermometer dates prior to 1948 when the measure was changed from Centigrade to Celsius.

Remember, you must look up or you will definitely miss treats like this. Also, remember to look down as well or you may step in another type of treat (not a good one).
