Entrée des Fournisseurs - mercerie

Tucked quietly off the main street of Rue des Francs-Bourgeois,
this large mercerie has a wonderful selection:

haberdashery, ribbons, buttons, passementerie,
threads, fabrics, felting, knitting, books, and so much more...

but, if you can see the square sign on the door...
pas de photos!

Ultramod Mercerie II

2012 Jan 17 3rd_0417

Mercerie
Ultramod

Even the name "Ultramod" is enchanting and is a reminder of times past.  There is nothing dull about this mercerie, a place not only to buy buttons, threads, and ribbons, but a joyful gathering of people who enjoy the needle arts and haberdashery.  The colors almost tumble off the shelves in an array of tassles and silks.

The ambiance here is palatable

Ultramod Mercerie - Vente au Detail

The interior of this shop is even more charming than its windows.  We found this charming mercerie (haberdasherie, notions store) with thousands of buttons, ribbons, silks, hats, feathers as we wandered out of Passage Choiseul.
In looking for more information, I discovered the wonderful history recounted here by Colleen of Colleen's Paris.

One thing is certain, at every turn you can uncover a story in Paris.
