Lena Margriet

Lena Margriet

If you take Line 5 on the Métro from Gare d'Austerlitz, you can see
the Port de l'Arsenal from the Bastille platform window.

The boat with the red awning and table
is a regular in the port.

Port de l'Arsenal

Commercial boats, working boats,
pleasure boats, and many house boats...

all can be found in Port de l'Arsenal
between the Seine and Place de la Bastille

Bateaux sur la Seine

Boats on the Seine

Dwarfed by the large Yacht de Paris,
the classic sleek wood bateau stole my heart.

One can imagine the same scene
fifty years ago....

Port de l'Arsenal

Port de l'Arsenal

From certain Bastille Métro platforms
you can see the boats moored in Port de l'Arsenal.

This warm September day reveals a business meeting
on the deck of a boat.  The three look as if
this is "business as usual."

les bateaux de Bastille

Seen from one of many Bastille metro platforms,
the boats anchored along Port de l'Arsenal
provide insight to life on the water.

It is just a stone's throw from Opera Bastille
and the Colonne de Juillet.

Parc de Bercy -un petit bateau

 Parc de Bercy

The small lake in the Japanese gardens
showcases this hand-constructed
bamboo boat.   Although not quite seaworthy,
its charm and reflection are perfect for the setting.
