Le Grenier de Notre-Dame
Le Grenier de Notre-Dame
I eat enough vegetables and fruit to be a vegetarian but do eat
meat in moderation. However, I can clear the table eating seafood.

next week!

Cidre Kerisac - Paris café

Lumière du matin
Morning Light
So, is the light magical
in Paris or am I just so
enamored with Paris
that I overlook the ordinary?

Quite often the terrace seating is stacked

Terrasse de Café
Paris in autumn
Café scene on the broad sidewalk
of Avenue Daumesnil...
Even the late afternoon sun has the
warm glow of autumn

Le Metivier et la vie quotidienne
Across from Père Lachaise
the tree-filtered sun on the terrace
leaves a lazy afternoon ambiance
as the week draws to an end...
bon week end

Un cafe de Paris
Although this is a simple terrace with empty chairs,
it personifies the amiable setting for a casual meeting among friends.
If it were possible to transport these chairs and table to my home terrace,
do you think it would capture the ambiance of Paris?

Cocktails ou Café?
Cocktails or Coffee?
The colored cups are not often seen in Paris,
but these are Cafés Richard.
I would choose Cafés Richard over Starbucks for certain,
and I do wish that I had some of these colorful cups for coffee and tea.

Café sans fleurs...
Avenue Rapp
This charming little café/bistrot is ready
for our party.
We should have brought some of yesterday's flowers
to perk it up a bit.

La Bocca - Il fait froid
La Bocca
brrrrr....
As you can see in the background,
many of the Paris cafés have heaters
and plastic framed terraces for the winter.
This gentleman was writing,
perhaps waiting for someone.

Ma Bourgogne - la terrasse en hiver
Ma Bourgogne
the terrace in winter
In the frigid temperatures of December,
this is how you enjoy the terrace at Ma Bourgogne
The heaters are quite toasty
and the regular waiters greet you with a smile.

Rue de Castiglione - café
An empty café on an (almost) empty street...
just in view of the Colonne and Place Vendôme
In a few hours, the city will awake
and these chairs will be full

Le Raspail - un café de la nuit
Le Raspail
Many of the Paris cafés are enjoyed much later
than the
Petits-déjeuners
(breakfast) sign would indicate here.
You may notice the "Vins & Bières" on the side window.
As I recall, it was so late when this photo was taken
that the only people on the premises were sweeping up
before stacking the chairs and turning out the lights.
