Rue Crémieux

Rue Crémieux

A lovely pedestrian street
adorned with an assorted palette of colors,
whimsical trompe l'oeil,
and at least one neighborhood cat.

un chat orange?

Chat Noir Orange!

This very large orange cat was mirrored on the other side of a doorway
by an equally large (and orange) chien (dog).

Based on the shopper in the store with the same hue of "persimmon,"
I am thinking that "orange" must be the new "black."

(Off to find my orange accessories!)

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine - une cour

2009 0929 2004 0715 072

A courtyard

Locked away from the peering eyes on the street is this charming courtyard.  We stayed for two weeks with a view of the rooftops.  Our spacious apartment was on the fifth and sixth floors, beautifully furnished with a delightful cross-breeze in the heat of the summer.  We did not gain an ounce or a gram with the daily climbing of steps.

We even enjoyed the pleasure of a delightful resident cat who took the stairs more easily than we did and who had full run of the courtyard with another friend.

Rue des Thermopyles - de l'autre côté

2011 nov day 6 1106 DSC_0545

Rue des Thermopyles

After using a shot of this street for June CDP Theme Day's "decay,"
it seemed appropriate to show you the charming side of this street.
It is quiet with well-manered cats wearing collars,
green plants and herbs, window boxes,
bicycles parked for cat-pedestals, and no cars allowed.

This photo was taken in the fall
and these vines should now be full of leaves and blooms.

Les toits et le chat

Les toits et le chat

On a gray rainy day in Paris this yellow cat can be seen grinning on the roofs from Montmartre to Vanves.  This one was seen among the chimney pots of the 6ème Arrondissement.

If it is raining where you are today, may you find a hidden smile.

Le chat roux - II

Walking alone, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye,
or so I thought...

Above my head was this leaping cat, about to pounce...
Pourquoi?

Come back tomorrow,
for the rest of the story...
