Rue de Rivoli - la petite

Rue de Rivoli

After a long afternoon at Jardin des Tuileries,
this little one held the hand of her maman
as the family walked  toward home.

Must be a French girl

Place des Pyramides - Rue de Rivoli

Rue de Rivoli

The tourists making their way to the Louvre,
the delivery truck workers, Parisians walking to work...
all the activity of this busy street
does not distract the couple enjoying a morning café.

If this were a quiz,
you would surely be able to spot so many details:

different lanterns, the Hotel Regina signs,
reflections in the windows,
Joan of Arc statue (sculpture by Emmanuel Frémiet),
flags of different sorts, and the list goes on.

Perigot - design utilitaire

In the Galerie le Carrousel du Louvre
we found this fashion forward store selling household utensils,
all designed by Frederic Perigot on the concept that "simple" is better.
Every product is based on an aesthetic ideal, both practical and affordable.

The window design in itself was enough
to make me want to take home mops and dusters by the armful.

How about un chariot de marche for the daily market shopping?

Le Métro et BHV

The Métro sign at Hotel de Ville and the Christmas lights of BHV (Bay Aash Vay)
are as colorful as the double-decker carrousel.

The full moon had some serious competition this night

Jardin des Tuileries - Pétanque

Pétanque, or boules (balls), a game that was once forbidden to commoners...

Do you play?

Jardin des Tuileries - Spears of gold

Seen just at sunset on the Rue de Rivoli side of Jardin des Tuileries, the "gold" tips on the fence give the appearance of spears from ancient Rome. It must take a concerted effort to maintain these fences and gates. Merci, Paris!

A quiet moment in the rain...

In a gentle winter evening rain,
this chef took a moment under the slight protection of a doorway for a break.
