This is an enormous dining room.  
As you sit at your table, your eyes wander over the famous bureau 
where locals stored their napkins 
or to the painting by an artist of 1929 to repay his debt.

Quite often the line extends from the door into the tiled courtyard to wait for a table.  The scene then resembles an alfresco cocktail party.

Le Huitième

This brasserie is memorable on my usual walk up 

Boulevard de Courcelles from Parc de Monceau.  

The café chairs in Paris come in every color in the rainbow 

and in many styles and designs.  

You do not see many of the orange shades, 

but the view across the wide boulevard 

is that of bright orange window awnings.

It appears that there would be plenty of room 

on this glassed in terrace for all of us.

Le Champ de Mars

I wondered how many movies have been shot here in front of Le Champ de Mars, 

a brasserie sitting in view of La Tour Eiffel.  

The dining reviews are mixed 

but the people-watching quotient should be quite high.

The rouge awnings are perfect.

Le Petit Bofinger - Brasserie

Le Petit Bofinger

This charming brasserie is just across the street from the famed Bofinger.  The reviews look good, and the ambiance is more intimate than its big sister.  The website states that it is perfect for a family meal or a quick business lunch (in Paris!)

The menu provides a better value but if you are looking for the Bofinger Belle Epoque decor and the history of nearly 150 years, you best make a reservation across the street with its café curtain windows.

Le Petit Bofinger has an echo of the windows, 

not with curtains, but with gently frosted glass as seen in the photo above.

Le Relais Odéon - une grande brasserie

This famous Paris brasserie has an address on Boulevard Saint-Germain

but there is back entrance on Rue du Jardinet as seen here.

The weather worsened as the day progressed, 

but the rain made for moody photos on the rain-soaked, cobbled streets.
