Petit Palais - l'escalier

Petit Palais was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition
and became a museum in 1902.
The architect Charles Girault
is also credited for the wrought iron design
gracing this circular staircase
and the magnificent
 entrance gates.

Wow...! It really is a "marble-lous" work. No mention the iron work. Honor to Mr. Girault. The image is superb, a warm black and white, a portrait of light... Thank you so much, Genie.

Hmm, just think about the weight being supported by those braces.
