Église Saint-Louis des Invalides III

Église Saint-Louis des Invalides

This dome which sits prominently on the Paris horizon is atop
what is commonly called Les Invalides.
The church is known as "The Soldiers' Church"
and was constructed in 1677.

Although many have visited Napoleon's tomb
and toured the Musée de l'Armée,
most of those have missed the interior
of this bright and beautiful church.

bon dimanche

This is not on the “must see” list of tourist. It is indeed a beautiful church. I visited this Church after several trip to Paris. Thank for sharing the image.

We stayed very near several times & it was thrilling. But I admit, I've never been inside the church, so thank you! Good day to you, Genie, Rita

We were in Paris when Alexander Dumas was installed into Des Invalides. It was a thrilling and moving ceremony. Of course we couldn't get into the church due to all the dignitaries that were there, but everything else was pretty exciting. Always think of that when I see this dome.

Such amazing architecture. That dome must dominate all around it.
