"Snail"
Jardin du Palais Royal
On the top of a shrub in the garden of Palais Royal,
we found this little fellow enjoying the gentle rain.
No, I did not order escargot that day.

Aw! He's cute. I wouldn't want to eat him either. His shell outfit is beautiful, even fashionable by Parisian standards, i think. :)
Yes, he is cute and no, I couldn't eat him either! But a fashionable little guy he is! Fun capture for the day, Genie! Hope you have a great week!

Joli petit escargot de Bourgogne... à Paris... And a nice exercise in macro photography for you, Genie. Well done. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
I doubt he local restaurants get their escargots from the Palais Royal gardens, so this little guy is probably safe. (And I'm thinking only you would see this shot and capture it—brava, Genie!)
This is SO cute Genie... seeing we were in Paris at the same time this little Snaile was most probably in my "L'Assiette de six escargot en coquille aux truffes et foie gras" I devoured at L'Escargot on Rue Montorgueil.
Now I feel guilty!
Great photo. I only tried escargot once- they're not for me.
Oh l'escargot
Quelle drôle de p'tite bête
C'est rigolo, ce qu'il a sur la tête
etc
Wonderful close up! :)

Hello Genie:
A magnificent image but, sadly, not one of our all time favourite creatures. As for eating.....!!
Do you like to eat snails, Genie?
Duncan In Kuantan
Lucky he/she (?) got away. :-)
I'm pretty good with my food Genie but I'm afraid my taste buds don't extend to Escargot.
Cute!
uggh, i can't imagine such a creature could ever slide down my throat. wonderful shot.
Cute little guy. Escargots are one of the things I over-indulged in and can't eat now, though I still love that garlic butter. I'm back; hope to visit regularly now.
Why do snails look so much cuter than slugs? It must be the shell. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme
It looks like he's having a very nice lunch himself Genie, love the close up.
Haha!! I love eating escargots but would have to think twice next time after seeing this cute photo.
Merci Genie for your lovely comment over at my blog. Wishing all the blessings of the New Year to you and your loved ones.

What a sweet little thing! I have never tried escargot...for some reason I just don't think I would like it!
How did you even see it, much less get the photo? Bravo!
I wonder if he's a royal snail :)
He certainly found a lovely garden to call home:)
In the 50's my parents went to Europe to pick up my sister who had been staying with relatives in Switzerland...they have a "moving picture" of an old gentleman sitting on a stool on the side of a bridge picking off snails and putting them in a bucket...according to my dad...for escargot!!! Don't know if my dad was pulling our legs, but that was his story!!!
Nice close up. I still couldn't eat him.
Starman, he was not moving very fast!
I do love escargots on the menu and on the plate but I do not like to think about the transition from "top of bush" to "plate." After cleaning squid, I felt a bit queasy about eating the calamari I had prepared. As an early teen I can remember eating oysters on the beach with one of my sisters... just picking them up and prying them open.
Alexa,I am glad that Vefours is not out in the garden making selections for déjeuner!
Bibi, nice to see you back.
Have a great week, all!
Bises,
Genie
I always get excited when I see a little escargot in my garden. I talk to it and urge it along. But then I remember that I love to eat them, and I feel bad :(
After this nice experience with Mother Nature, it would be a bit difficult to order escargot. You really had your eyes open to spot this little guy!
Beautiful shot~not that crazy about escargot, though!
