Marché d'Aligre
Early Sunday morning at Marché d'Aligre
is my favorite for taking photographs and watching the day come alive.
As with all the street markets of Paris, there is a collegial neighborhood atmosphere as shoppers greet their favorite vendors. You see children playing and families shopping together on the weekend mornings. Quite often they finish the morning in the nearby Square Trousseau with the children playing.

Look at all those gorgeous vegetables! They are arranged so perfectly and look so tempting. How could you not purchase one of everything! :)
I agree-Sunday mornings are perfect for visiting the market with your camera.
While I worked in Paris, I lived in a studio in that neighborhood for a few years. My best friend and I often went to le Marché d'Aligre together and bought fresh produce so she could prepare a traditional "couscous..." Memories, memories... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
We always make a beeline for the local market when in a foreign city. It always provides a grounding to the usual tourist spots. Real people. Real food.
nice colors. Vegetables and fruits make such a colorful photo subject.
This is "my neighbourhood"... I know someone who will love the "Paris Rouge" in this photo...
Yes, a great time and scene for candid photos! I love going to the market!

Que de magnifiques légumes!

Bonne semaine à toi Genie.

Red and green ... Even the veggies are reminding us that we are entering the Christmas season! Lovely capture, Gene!
Luscious. Almost as good as being there.
I had exactly the same thought as M when I saw this image Genie....Christmas!! Love the traditional colours of red green and gold.
P.s. thankfully there was no damage to the cars, last year we had a storm with hail three times the size of this..people are still recovering from damage. Can you imagine all the cars parked out in the open in so many car sales yards, thankfully we had a bit of warning about that one and my car was safely in the garage.
gorgeous colors, but more importantly, gorgeous veggies !
love markets, anywhere but especially in France and Italy !
bonne journée

i agree even here the markets are so interesting at the start of the day
What a fabulous discovery your beautiful blog is! I have to thank Paulita for her Dreaming of France meme that brought me here. Fab!
And not an imperfect veggie to be seen in this beautiful tableau! Bonne semaine, Genie --
Gotta love the open markets in Paris!
How bright and lovely.. (and healthy) looking! :) I see delicious tomatoes to eat whole like apples.. yummy marinara sauce.. not French, i know. Steamed broccoli, stuffed red and green peppers. This display also looks festive.. Christmas-y. Love it.
Wonderful looking produce.
Markets are great places for taking photos. The colors and the life are good.
What a wonderful market shot. Look at those wonderful artichokes and gleaming capsicums...Hopefully I'll get there one day.
