The last train
Garches, France
It sounds so distant to say we went to Garches, France,
but it is only outside the Peripherique by two stops,
and you can use a Paris Visit, Zones 1-3
However, if you miss the last train back into Paris,
it would seem distant indeed.
Garches, France
Two stops beyond La Défense

I like this one a lot, Genie. Very dark darks, and very light lights. Great converging lines, and a well-positioned figure on the right. And this time I even like the black and white.
The disappearing lines give this one great depth Genie.
I love travelling at night, either by train or car or bus or plane.
Thanks for your comment on my moon post!
There is a thing about last trains, many songs have been written about them. About Garches? I don't think so.
My favourite form of travel. Nice shot Genie. Have a good weekend!
Nice photo, I don't like to miss the last train.
After the last train anywhere, it's always a long walk.
A beautifully composed image right down to the man's shadow.
P.s. sorry Genie I know it's a bit late but a big welcome to the CDP.
Sometimes black and white is so much better than colour and this photo is fantastic. Well done. Have a good weekend. Diane
very timely and beautiful shot
my son got stuck in the brussels subway last night, the last one before the gates went down
grateful for the friendly policewoman who lend a helping hand !!
That station is going to be very empty when that train pulls out! Great shot!
Very pretty night shot!
I used to live in Garches and remember almost missing a train....and then sometimes I took the bus.... This is a beautiful BW.
Missing the last train is the pits!
Love European trains.
Very beautiful photo. Not sure why, but i think of Casablanca when i look at this. My favorite film ever!
Great lonely shot.
Wonderful night time shot.
Bibi, we have a dear friend who lives in Garches and another who lives just beyond so we have made this trip several times now. What a lovely area!
anni, I have barely made it back into Paris twice after having dinner with friends in Nogent sur Marne. I do not ever want to miss the last RER or Métro "home." I am glad your son made it.
I do love travel by trains across Europe watching the scenery go by and taking shots of the stations and fields. The swaying of the cars on the tracks. There are no trains where I live now. We used to have a train between Mobile and New Orleans and there is talk of another.
I am glad that you liked the black and white, and, Mary, it reminds me of Casablanca too.
Bises,
Genie
Last rain or not, I wish I caught that one :-)
