Église Saint-Louis en l'Île
Far from the bustling crowd on this well-traversed island in the Seine
is Église Saint-Louis en l'Île, full of art and soft light.
Construction
started in 1642 at the direction of Louis XIV
using the plans of
François Le Vau who was also designing Versailles.
bon dimanche

A very atmospheric image. The glow of the candle light on the sculpture works really well.
Nice low light photo.
Love the atmospheric lighting Genie....looks like a very private corner!
Bon dimanche,

Perfectly beautiful Sunday image Genie, now thats what you call tapered candles oui!
Yes, candles burning in a Church always brings like peace to the soul. Like if you really wanted to be a better person than you usually are, with all the small problems of the day to day life aside.
At least, they don't charge you to get in!
I love this little church! Bon dimanche to you too, Genie.
I haven't visited this church before, so thanks for introducing it to me. I hope you'll play the Dreaming of France meme on Monday.
I am going to be there next week and plan on visiting this church.
hi - i saw your question on flickr and am also new, but, may be able to help....once your picture is uploaded and you open up to just that picture, there should a "bar" to the above left that will allow you to share your photo. if you do not have this bar- go to the flickr home page and under the number 3 where it says: find you friends on flickr- click on learn more about contacts. from there- click on share your flickr photos and add your blog link. now when you open your pics there should a be share bar. hope this helps!!
That's lovely. I really like the long candle sticks.
