June, in the Marais, a bus crossed my path.
Although I was first taken with the uniforms and clicked,
I later wondered about the troubled look on the left
and the wiping of a tear on the right.
Often a photo asks more questions than it answers

Part of what captured my attention is the resemblance to my dad
(living and thriving with my mom still today)

This tells a story but we won't know what it is. Great shot.
Alternatively, the troubled look could just be squinting in the sun, and the wiping of the tear could just be rubbing tired eyes after reading a very good, but long book?

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words. This image makes me wonder why he was brushing a tear from his eye? The young man to the left certainly resembles your father. :)

I love the Marais -- that is where I stayed during my Paris visits. How observant and thoughtful you are. Lovely.
Genie, the resemblance to your father is remarkable! But, don't worry. That expression doesn't seem troubled to me, and I suspect the rubbing of the eye was just being tired. Am I illustrating the difference between sensitive women (these poor men seem unhappy) and insensitive men (no probs here)?

Thank you for all your comments, particularly those about my dad. He is quite adept with the internet, but probably does not visit blogs (not even mine). I checked with one of my sisters to "get approval" before posting his photo. I think that he would be pleased with both his image from many years ago and the young man who bears a striking resemblance.
He gave me the love of photography from an early age and I can remember photographing lunar eclipes in the middle of the night with a movie camera... two clicks at a time. Well, a love of astronomy and a passion for photography. Thanks, Daddy!
