Un reflet et une réflexion - Que pensez vous?

June, in the Marais, a bus crossed my path.
Although I was first taken with the uniforms and clicked,
I later wondered about the troubled look on the left
and the wiping of a tear on the right.

Often a photo asks more questions than it answers

Added note:
Part of what captured my attention is the resemblance to my dad
(living and thriving with my mom still today)

This is definitely a photo that asks lots of questions! What an incredible capture, Genie! As soon as I looked at it and I wondered what had prompted such public emotions! Very moving! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a good weekend.

This tells a story but we won't know what it is. Great shot.

Alternatively, the troubled look could just be squinting in the sun, and the wiping of the tear could just be rubbing tired eyes after reading a very good, but long book?

Very interesting picture; The mystery around it makes it even more attractive.

Peut-être they were a funeral escort? They are wearing some very dressy uniforms. Intriguing photo and wonderful reflection!

It does make you wonder...interesting

Some stories leave no answers... and are sometime misinterpreted. The mystery moves on.

Makes you ponder. Is it Joe that usually spins a tale for these mysteries?...

Not to worry. I was standing there too and I caught a guy smiling and waving as I raised my camera! :)

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words. This image makes me wonder why he was brushing a tear from his eye? The young man to the left certainly resembles your father. :)

Hope you are staying cool in the heat! :)

It sure is a mystery and I'm blown away by his resemblance to your father.

That is a powerful photo, indeed...one could easily weave a story around it! I love the old photo of your father...:)

I love the Marais -- that is where I stayed during my Paris visits. How observant and thoughtful you are. Lovely.

Genie, the resemblance to your father is remarkable! But, don't worry. That expression doesn't seem troubled to me, and I suspect the rubbing of the eye was just being tired. Am I illustrating the difference between sensitive women (these poor men seem unhappy) and insensitive men (no probs here)?

I think it looks like you and your dad's young doppelganger were having a "moment."

I missed that last part...about looking like your Dad. Amazing!!!

Thank you for all your comments, particularly those about my dad. He is quite adept with the internet, but probably does not visit blogs (not even mine). I checked with one of my sisters to "get approval" before posting his photo. I think that he would be pleased with both his image from many years ago and the young man who bears a striking resemblance.

He gave me the love of photography from an early age and I can remember photographing lunar eclipes in the middle of the night with a movie camera... two clicks at a time. Well, a love of astronomy and a passion for photography. Thanks, Daddy!

Bises,
Genie

Nice shot- and a lovely photo of your father too. We were in a restaurant one night, and there were a large group of young people in this same uniform. Do you know what it is?

Wow...now I know where you got your rosy cheeks!
Stunning photo - wish that I could remember to look everyday Genie.
Is the guy in front of your father's twin wiping a tear away???

What an interesting and emotive capture Genie!

I'm so glad to come back and see you're still snapping away. I'll be in Paris this September and using your blog as reference for things to do for sure.
