Solitude at Palais Royal

Le Jardin du Palais Royal...

On a cloudy day in November, you can have the garden all to yourself.

It does look cold there in the garden. When we visited it last May it was very warm and the roses were in full bloom – I need to do a post on it – maybe in 2012…

I wish you a joyful New Year and hope that in 2012 you will show us many lovely photos from our lovely city.

A great image. It has an air of mystery to it.

Le Palais Royal looks so much better without the awful Colonnes de Buren, doesn't it, Genie? ;-) Bonne année! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

These remind me of those old chairs you had to pay for to sit on them; but these look a bit more comfortable. Nice BW.

It seems kind of sad.

All the best in 2012. See you then.

On a cloudy day in November, I prefer the cozy warmth of the nearest café.

The only thing missing would be a bottle of wine and a good book.

A friend gave ma Doisneau book for Christmas where he talks about photographing the chairs of Paris. Just like this!

I think it has a very 'Doisneau' look about it too Genie, many of your B&W's have that very special feeling. I would take sitting in this garden whatever the weather.

What a wonderful way to spend a day in solitude. While it may look dreary and cold, it would appear to me to be the perfect place for pensive thoughts!
