My horticultural knowledge doesn't extend to assessing the vintage of vines, but I do feel it would be nicer to frame the sculptured detail rather than engulf it. Beautiful, Genie.
I would not know... the only thing that matters is that once again, you succeeded in capturing a beautiful picture and make us see things that otherwise we wouldn't have.
It has that certain unkempt Parisian charm. However, I would prefer the vine to be trimmed around the sculpture and the window to enhance the architecture. Lovely photo, as usual!
Round windows always grab my attention...and vines too. Neat scene. Yes, the sculpture itself would be better without the vines. But, in totality, I like it the way it is.
I've always been a fan of ivy growing on buildings Genie, gives it that 'permanent' look. I don't mind the ivy around the sculpture, but eventually i guess it might get too thick. I went to see Midnight in Paris yesterday, the cinematography was too beautiful, I really love Woody Allen movies, have you seen it Genie.
Much as I love a vine-covered building—and this one is beautiful—I'd have to do a bit of trimming. (You and V and Eric are certainly thinking alike today, Genie!)
I like the mystery and grace that the vines provide and how they emphasize the flowing lines of the sculpture. It has an atmosphere akin to l'après-midi d'un faune.
I love the texture and color the vines provide and I imagine that the autumn colors will be stunning. I do wish that they would trim it back just a touch to reveal that lovely sculpture.

I like it the way it is: not too much green, so the statues are not hidden, but a small touch, to give things a special charm;
I think it has its charm with the green leaves.

Next summer, the goat and his ladies will be covered by the vines. I'd trim them back some, just to show the details.
