On the deuxième étage high above the shops of Rue des Abbesses is this fashionable façade, wrought iron railings, boxes of greenery and flowers, shuttered balcony windows,
and a touch of rouge in the awnings.
Do not forget to look up!

On imagine la vie derrière les fenêtres de ce balcon...
Bonne journée,
Pierre
This is SO PARIS! I love it!
Ja, this is so Paris!
Those touches of rouge are so dapper! Gorgeous, dear Genie.
It's hard to imagine people don't look up, yet I know it's true. So glad you do!
Yes always look up everywhere in every city.
And the woman's face in the frieze isn't forgetting to look back down on us!
That kind of sight sets me daydreaming all the time--I love those little gardens in Paris.
My kind of place. Love the awnings!

Vivre en ville... mais entouré de verdure... C'est le paradis Genie! Veronique
Such fine architecture and a great photo!
I'm inspired to go out and buy a lottery ticket, Genie—and I don't have to tell you what I'd do if I won! Great capture—comme toujours!
No doubt a Haussmann-era building. They have aged so well, style-wise. Haussmann used a formula for determining the heights of the buildings and the width of the streets, the result of which is the remarkable beauty we enjoy in Paris today. Haussmann had a keen sense for scale and proportion.
I photographed a similar balcon on rue des Archives, except I think the one I shot had even more plants.
I love this photo! The shuttered balcony windows, the rough in the awnings and the beautiful greenery and flowers in the boxes! Gorgeous! Isn't it amazing what you can see when you take the time to "look up".
Cheery Regards,
Kris
Lovely place. I adore the white shutters.
Une superbe architecture... Comme beaucoup des immeubles de ce quartier...
gros bisous
Gorgeous find, Genie. I suspect that be a spectacular apartment behind those rouge awnings!
Today was a bit more gray in Paris, but fine. It felt like I always thought of November in Paris.
My camera just about walked my legs off today, and I am discovering new treasures around every corner.
I met a friend for dinner, a true French classic from Savoie. Certainly I am bringing home much to share with you. Thank you for your interest and your kind comments.
Bises,

Excellent, Genie. Quite a balcony. Is that "full" or "overgrown"?
That's just lovely.
Paris is living art = I love your images.
Warm regards.
