Yesterday I attended the funeral after the unexpected death of my sister-in-law (belle-soeur). I think she would have loved this vision in La Madeleine, the work of Charles Marochetti.
Bon dimanche
Is this the Marie-Madeleine at the head of Rue Royal. I am trying to steer clear of churches and galleries this trip. Have a list which includes cemeteries, bridges and parks, instead
What a lovely tribute to your sister-in law to show this amazing and beautiful sculpture.I'm always in awe of sculptors who carve marble with such expertise.
I appreciate your tribute to a loved one. Your photo is quietly dignified, the cross is absolutely central to the composition, the two flanking angels are observing that which unseen with reserve and patience, and the upward movement of the four figures is filled with awe and hope.
Very sorry to hear about your belle soeur, Genie. I stopped in here one afternoon after seeing your stunning photos (and V's) of this church. Have to thank you for the inspiration, as I happened upon a beautiful concert of choral music. This shot is a lovely tribute.
Genie, I am so sorry about your family's loss. This remembrance is a heartfelt tribute to your sister-in-law. Knowing you and your interests as she must, this would have been appreciated. Very nice.

The lighting seems different from what I remember.
So very sorry.
This is a breathtaking (sorry for the cliche, but it's really what I mean) image! Great work beautifully captured!
God bless you!

Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
I think this is one of the most beautiful church altars. I can't look at it without hearing the amazing choir from fete de la musique.
Hugging you long distance now -- will do it in person in a few days!
So sorry to hear of your family's tragedy. My sympathy, and, I agree with VJ...it's a lovely tribute.
