This café is quite well-known and situated on the corner right in front of Place St-Michel. I snapped this photo on a previous visit for the obvious qualities:
- Architectural shapes
- Neon sign
- Rouge!
- Des fleurs
When you pop out of the Métro Saint-Michel this lovely café is there to greet you!

VERY well captured, Genie! The neon sign really pops against those red flowers.
Un très beau contraste avec les géraniums qui doivent briller sous les feux des néons la nuit...
Bisous
Dear Genie, you are there!!!!Wonderful - i wish I could meet you here for a cafè o lait.
I have just looked on the map and seen where this is in reference to me. I am staying in an apartment on Rue deRegard, very close to the Luxemburg gardens....can't wait!
Bonjour Genie = I know this cafe well and when I dream of being in Paris, I imagine myself sitting right there with a cafe crema - soaking up the ambiance.
xx
Tis a wonderful composition, Genie. The flowers are not quite up to that standard in the boxes this year thus far. I promised a post on planter boxes for a friend and have not found enough as yet. There are some magnificent bed plantings though. Jardin de Luxe is still a bit under planted which surprised me yesterday.
The perfection!
I love those flowers, the red is so intense!

One of my old haunts, when I was studying in the area, aeons ago.
Thank for liking the EYE! Photo reworked with a free little program called Luminance HDR, and enhanced with Picasa. I used them for the seagull on my Barcelona blog as well.
SAINT...picture taken by a saint...Saint Genie. Hope you're having too much fun.
The abundance of flowers up there is amazing.
I see that you are probably in Paris by now. Hope you have a fabulous time! Looking forward to the photos!
Paris is probably so lovely this time of year. Ah, I am a bit jealous...
Pretty welcome when you get out of the subway!
This looks familiar but I can't quite place it! Love the rouge. Having fun yet? :)

C'est très, très bien, Genie.
J'aime le rouge, mais ou sont le blanc at bleu?
I hope you're having a fabulous time!
What wonderful color!
Love the contrast of having a small clutch of a pink-and-white striped variety in with the red.
And the food isn't bad, either.
It is indeed lovely and i especially love the red geraniums.
Nice composition the flowers really lift the image and soften the hard lines and edges.
Well, we left the apartment at 8am and we ran the streets of Paris for almost 11 hours, came home to change clothes and head out for dinner at Hier et Aujourd'Hui (17th arr.)
Now it is 12:15am and we have had enough for the day, three museums, 2 carousels, 2 churches, and hundreds of other photos later!
Thank you for your kind comments and I have taken pictures of bears and shoes and food and patisseries... thinking about what my readers might want to see.
Tomorrow is another full day but we will take some time to visit with friends...
A bientot (no accents marks on the laptop!)
Genie
you have an incredible eye! i've said it before and i'll probably have to say it again, your blog is a joy to visit!
Magnifiques géraniums! C'est, en effet, le rouge qui fait tout le charme de cette photo. Rouge, couleur de l'amour...
Bienvenue à Paris, Genie!
These "fleurs" are so caracteristic for Paris!!!
Love this photo...great composition!!!
Sounds like you had a wild and crazy day!!!
I think you have a special eye - to notice these things - these beautiful, wonderful things! Thank you - and rouge, rouge, rouge!
Hello. A lovely café yes but cost is expensive. I come here only to buy books.
Another really lovely picture!
I like the fact that we don't see the whole sign. We can dream more and keep our imagination up! We can't see everything, so What is it next to what we see?
Just saw Shell Sherree's painting of your photo ... well-done, both of you!
