The usual crowd shopping in Place Maubert includes pets and acquaintances, exchanging pleasantries. This pup and his family are regulars in the neighborhood. May you enjoy your weekend comme ce monsieur et son chien.
Getting ready to head to the Saturday Farmer's Market -- but, alas, not in Paris. Great candid shot -- the puppy is so cute and I love all the produce colors in the background.
*** I think I didn't tell you about my kitty Luna. She had traveled from Brazil with us last year, more than 20 hours inside a little box ( poor Luna) and we had changed 3 flights to get here in Luxembourg. After all stress, she is very well adapted to this new life ( and the different weather here)and...she got a Luxembourgian passport! Cool and...an adventure isn't it? :) Her pictures, just if you are curious: www.weloveluna.blogspot.com
Bear -- We could see that so clearly in the markets of Paris. This one is in our usual neighborhood and we have another that we also frequent. Merci.
Shell -- Oh the pups of Paris are definitely spoiled but I have never seen a "bad actor."
Paul -- I don't think so. Do you have one?
Marie -- Hope that you enjoyed your farmer's market also.
Brittany -- I wish that I had a market just around the corner!
Virginia -- Yes, alons-y!
Holly -- Oh, we will definitely go by to see all our neighborhood friends, making a swing through the "erie" shops (boulangerie, pâtisserie, fromagerie, etc)
Léia -- Sweet little pooch but I am a cat person through and through. I left a message for Luna on her blog! What an incredible adventure, but cats love adventure, n'est-ce pas?
Halcyon -- Oh my, I am changing this toute suite! I definitely know better and always welcome the correction. I adore Tintin and would love to see the Hergé museum in Brussels some day. Merci!
I always feel a little weird about correcting people. But I know I like to have things right on my blog. I do enjoy seeing your shots of Paris. Brings back memories. :)
Yes, Genie, you are right, it's Anish Kapoor. I saw five of his works in London when I was there one month ago, (have already posted another one here: http://mendoncajose.blogspot.com/2010/10/cloud-reflections.html#comments), but, in my opinion, the most amazing is the Cloud Gate 'bubble' in Chicago, although I've only seen it in pictures as I've never been there.
Harriet -- We are going to swing by to say hello to our "erie" friends and drop in on market day, but we are staying in a new place on this trip... more later on that

That's the true nature of markets — community, and community-building. The sharing of thoughts as well as the buying of food, flowers, and crafts.
And your have captured it so beautifully, as always.
What a beautiful puppy, and no doubt well-spoiled. Wishing you a happy weekend too, dear Genie.
Does the dog have a pony tail too?

Love the view of normal everyday life. Wonder if they will miss us this December - we'll have to stop over to say hi to our wine & cheese shops.
Cute little friend there!Great capture!

If you want some French advice, it should be ce monsieur as he is a man! :)
I love fox terriers. They are so cute like Milou in Tintin.

Great portrait and great background!

I love how Parisians allow dogs around their food, lol! XX!
Halcyon -- Please keep returning and offering corrections, svp. Glad that you like the photos!
JM -- When I next get to Chicago, I'll take many photos for you. I have not seen it before and appreciate your mention of this. Merci, mon ami!
Shari -- Oh, mais oui! They are quite welcome in restaurants and cafés. Bon weekend!
Say hello to Place Maubert for me; that is usually my 'home base' when in Paris. I'm getting excited about your upcoming trip.

I like the atmosphere of shopping in a friendly place like this, even though I'm not really fond of crowds.
What a lucky little guy to be carried around while he shops. Nice shot.
Bibi likes to go to the market too and has admirers there. She'd like this cute pup.
