Rue de l'Élysée de Ménilmontant - street art

Street Art

If you look at this address on Google-Maps
you will see only a plain corrugated metal building.

I found no signature but liked the effect of the patterns
as a background, the black and white realism of the boy, and
the cartoon-like blue birds.

I think that the café terrace just opposite on this narrow,
dead end street has a much nicer view thanks to this artist.

PiTR

PiTR

One Paris' graphic street artists, PiTR
met another street artist, Ella.

When asked how they met, PiTR said:

We met each other one autumn evening in 2007 in the streets of St Etienne, while pasting. Ella, who comes from the south of France, was pasting up her first drawings, and I asked her what she was doing and if she’d like to paste work with me. She said yes – now we have two children.

You can read about them here.

Robert Combas - Rue des Haudriettes

Robert Combas

A French artist born in Lyon in 1957, he has exhibited in France and New York City.
This painting was created in 2000 and is titled,
La femme lumière de l’homme

From a statement on his website, his art is meant to...

“provoke, that is, to trigger a reaction in the spectator
only to ‘invite’ him, beckoning him in
and whispering in his ear ‘come over and talk to me,
I want to tell you about the stupidity, violence, beauty,
love, hatred, seriousness and fun, the logic
and senselessness that pervade our day-to-day lives’ ”.

Le Centaure

Le Centaure

This large bronze sculpture represents the mythical centaur
with the body of a horse and the bust of a man.

It was created in 1985 by the French artist César Baldaccini
(called simply César) and sits in the small place Michel Debré
at the intersection of Rue du Cherche-Midi and Rue de Sèvres.

Interestingly, the artist placed his face
as the head of this strange sculpture

Belleville - Rue Dénoyez

Rue Dénoyez - graffiti street

This street of abandoned buildings and closed shops
has been transformed as a palette for graffiti artists,
welcomed by the Belleville community
and supported by nearby stores, cafés, and markets.

Each time you visit this street, the canvas will have changed,
and you might find one of these artists at work.

Art urbain - Jérôme Mesnager et Julien Malland

Urban art
Jérôme Mesnager, born in 1961, is one of the first painters of the streets of Paris, and is known as the father of the l'Homme en blanc, the man in white.  This recognizable figure is known around the world and has appeared from the walls of Paris to the Great Wall of China.
Now, with regard to the figure in blue, I am stumped and at a loss to know the artist.  Please send me an email or leave a comment if you recognize this intriguing style.  With the two figures "floating" together, I wonder if the urban art was created simultaneously or one followed the other.

Update:  The figure in blue is by Julien "Seth" Malland
'Julien “Seth” Malland is a world traveling, street painting, socially conscious individual roaming the far places of this planet. Sometimes based in Paris, the street artist took a three year journey around the world to bring his art to remote areas. At different locations he would spend time with the local people, then create cheery pieces displaying children and colors to “liven up” the communities.' (from visual news.com) - Thank you, Vreni
