Petit Palais - l'escalier

Petit Palais was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition
and became a museum in 1902.

The architect Charles Girault
is also credited for the wrought iron design
gracing this circular staircase
and the magnificent
 entrance gates.

Thé avec un serpent?

Petit Palais

In the main gallery of Petit Palais is this unusual teapot by Léon Kann (1859-1925).
An open-mouthed serpent bursts from a metal gourd
and is ready to strike!

Now, would you care for lemon or milk
with that tea?

Métro Champs-Elysées Clemenceau

In Lisbon the Metrolitano Picoas station has a very French Guimard entrance, a gift from RATP.  In exchange, the Portuguese ceramist and painter Manuel Cargaleiro created these tiles, giving the Métro Champs-Elysées Clemenceau station a unique atmosphere.

Petit Palais - Reflection

In the exquisite doors of Petit Palais you can see just a faint reflection of Grand Palais across the avenue. The full view of these doors is magnificent.
