Men in green
The streets are meticulously cleaned daily by the men in green.
An interesting feat of engineering allows the water to flow
under low pressure from the curbside openings into the gutters.
This man with his broom helps sweep the water
and the floating debris back into the sewers.
There are over 12,000 of these WOs (water outlets) in Paris.
Are you wearing green today?

You didn't mention the pieces of carpet they also use to accomplish the same thing.
ReplyDeletePerfect photograph for St Patricks Day Genie. Just checked my attire for today. No green. I'll go and have a rummage through my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I'll be shoveling snow today--can't think of a single outer shell I own that's green.
ReplyDeleteTrès vert! Guess I better re-think my attire for today.
ReplyDeleteBefore I scrolled down to see the picture, I knew from your title that it would be one of these guys. A perfect post for St. Paddy's Day, Genie! I discovered this morning that I don't own a single piece of green clothing. :~}
ReplyDeleteA good choice for the day, Genie!
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I wore a dark green T-shirt, a green camofluage bandanna, and there's some green in my scarf today. So I was covered.
I guess no one pinched him today. I didn't but I had a green smiley face sticker on.
