Front door of No. 28
The stone and timber construction of this home
is punctuated with the weathered, but sturdy, door.
Each of the homes along the main street
leading to the Upper town of Provins is graced with lace curtains.
From the bolted repairs of this door,
one might think it abandoned,
but the delicate touch of fabric at the windows says otherwise.

Calling this door "weathered" is being very kind. I wonder why they didn't replace it?
ReplyDeleteGee there is much character in this front door Genie. My heart would beat in anticipation if I knocked on this one.
ReplyDeleteOh to see behind that door!

Absolutely charming!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome door. And don't you just love the curtains?
ReplyDeleteRepairs, and it is still all leaning. Fix the old, no need to replace.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so lovely Genie! What a fascinating, wonderful home, and how fortunate the people who live in it!
ReplyDeleteThis door definitely looks like it's been around awhile, doesn't it? Why replace it when it still serves its purpose so charmingly?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful find.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Are you joining the "Wednesday doorway" small company?
