Marché aux Puces, St-Ouen V

Perhaps this delightful little treasure-trove should be called
Le Cavern d'Ali Baba*

This sweet friend, originally from Spain, has lived in Paris with her husband for over 30 years.  I have been to see her on almost every visit to Paris, but we may miss each other on this trip.
Surely, I do not have to explain that to you.

*a reference from French friend Isabelle when she first saw my art studio!

  4. Ooh! I could spend some time (and money!) in there. I will have to go and hunt it out. I wonder where you will visit today...?

  7. Heaven! I visited a store at les Puces like this, with tables piled high with vintage fabrics. I think we must have bought the store out to bring back to our daughter who was a fibers minor in art school, and crafty.

  8. Delightful! I look forward to returning and hunting for treasure in here again some day. I love it in B&W -- some how it adds to the mystery of what one may find here. It is truly from a fairy tale!

I can't imagine why shopping for hours is not on your list this time! I hope you and D are taking in all the "Paris is for lovers" sites, sights, sounds, smells and favors. A picnic on the green chairs ... Hmmm, divine! Enjoy ma chère amie!

  17. Definitely no explanation necessary—I'd have to spend waaay too much time here myself. Can't wait to hear about some of the places you've chosen to enjoy together though (don't hold back—I can take it).

  18. Well, the weather could not be any more beautiful than today! We started out with a leisurely visit to Parc Bercy and Village Bercy, a bit off the beaten track. We even got a little snuggle on a bench in this very green, very quiet park. (shhhhh)

We enjoyed un café with Peter before hoping the Metro to Buttes aux Cailles and a fun local place there for lunch. We wandered the streets before parting. Late afternoon found us at Bon Marché in both stores. I was even able to steal a few photos in the main store though I did not dare in the Epicerie. We finished the day in the shops of Place Maubert with a final purchase of warm baquettes at Eric Kayser.

We watched the sun slip softly away from another day in Paris, and await its return tomorrow.

Oh, I brought a red lock with our names and date...... Will fill you in on that later.

    Bises,
    Genie

  19. So there's no heat at the flea? Well maybe that accounts for the lack of vendors in the winter!!!

Glad you're having fun. Eat a warm baguette pour moi! Waaaaaaa
