I have been in this church many times.
How could I have missed this detail in previous visits?
The lamps and light are beautiful, but the juxtaposition of the art gives them life.
bon dimanche

OK when light(s) was created why did He have to put them up too high to be changed?
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous capture! It is amazing how we can miss things even in places we have been many times! I can only guess that we will see them when it is the right time for us to do so, and to appreciate what we see for the first time! Thank you, as always, for your visit/comment on my blog! They are so appreciated, Genie! Enjoy!

Bon dimanche, Genie. May your day have much light!
ReplyDeleteThe perspective, angles and patterns, as well as the quiet yet warm tones, are just lovely.

Beautiful! A church that is certainly worth more than one visit!
ReplyDeleteYou put a smile on my face when I saw you had commented on my blog! :)
Love the composition you selected. So much to see! Thanks for the comment on the eagle shot. You're right - I was breathless the whole time thinking, 'I hope I'm getting one decent shot!' Bon dimanche!

It's a nice composition. I know what you mean about overlooking details, but I do think that being a daily blogger makes one much more observant!
ReplyDeleteToo beautiful, Sunday wouldn't be complete without these lovely images Genie, thank you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Bon Dimanche!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have the eye of an artist Genie - it's all in the detail, a wonderful image!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week

What a great composition! I love the way the chandeliers are hung at graduated heights.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shot. I love the painting.
ReplyDeleteI think they bought them at a chandelier yard sale. Each is different!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you missed these, 'cause I think you always remember to look up! They are gorgeous, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteMost churches are so rich in detail that it's impossible to take them all in at one time. That's one of the reasons why we go back to places that please us. Your photo captures luminous details I'd easily miss in a visit. Love the glow of the lamps.
ReplyDeleteJack, wouldn't you love to know the story about how these came to be. I wonder if they were all acquired at the same time or if, as you suggest, they were picked up over the centuries.... hummm?
ReplyDeleteAlexa, I think that I miss plenty but I am glad that I remembered to look up on this visit. (Just added the "look up" to my label on this one)
Melissa, this blog has truly helped me be more observant in all my photography for sure.
There are some very tall ladders for these lamps!
Have a great week ahead, and I will have the drawing for the book giveaway tomorrow night.
Bises,
Genie
Your specific eyes and knowing of how to capture the "details" is really something!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore the lights in churches over here. Beautiful picture!
